        From FB:

        ***NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT***

Yesterday we announced George A Romero's Land of the Dead and today we bring you even more zombie action in the form of Zack Snyder's thrilling 2004 remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD!

Project is still in progress but here's what we can tell you so far:

        - The Blu-ray release will be branded as a "Collector's Edition" that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date.)

        - The newly-commissioned front-facing artwork you see pictured comes to us from Nathaniel Marsh (Carrie, The John Carpenter steelbooks). The reverse side of the wrap will showcase the original theatrical poster art design.

        - Bonus features & specs are still in progress and will be announced sometime in Sept but we can confirm today that this will be a 2-disc set and will sport new extras (including interviews with Ty Burrell, James Gunn, Jake Webber, David Anderson & Heather Langenkamp Anderson) plus the theatrical and unrated versions of the film.

        - Official street date is 10/24/17. However, if you pre-order now directly from our website @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/lan...ector-s… you'll get it two weeks earlier plus you'll received a free 18” x 24” rolled poster of the newly-designed key art (while supplies last)!

I think that the recent zombie overkill can trace its origins back to this one. It's slick entertainment but utterly hollow. I just wish someone would shoot this genre in the head, even Romero has nothing interesting to say in his last three films. Zombie movies used to be hardcore, but when you can show Romero levels of gore on tv then there's nothing left worth bothering with.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

"XT Video is releasing a composite cut (156 mins) of DAWN OF THE DEAD in January. Similar to the Extended Mall Hours fan edit or the Ultimate Final Cut released in Germany, it incorporates all the footage from the 3 cuts of the film."

German multi-disc set coming out soon. Reportedly using the same masters as the flawed Japanese set.

XT is doing a nice job of recycling this cover art. They're also using it for a steelbook release.

Good news IF it has a new scan of the theatrical cut. Otherwise...

Yeah, hoping Second Sight goes all out on this one.

Watched the remake last night. I still really like it.

                          UK BMG 'Director's' cut VHS
                          US Elite Laserdisc

                          FR TF1 Argento cut VHS
                          UK BMG Director's cut DVD

                          IT Argento cut UHD/BD

This one's going to have to come with a free hand-job or something to get me to buy it again...

I only ever bought the Anchor bay 4 disc dvd set years ago and never felt the need to upgrade. I'm lucky. And unless this release is seriously definitive I still don't think I'll bother.
