    **NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**

The 2006 horror hit SILENT HILL (starring Radha Mitchell and based off the popular game with the same name) is coming to Blu-ray this Summer from us in an all-new Collector's Edition Blu-ray release!

Here are the early details we have at present time:

    • National street date for North America (Region A) is July 9th.
    • Release will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date).
    • The newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from Devon Whitehead (Trick r Treat, Valentine, Sleepwalkers). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will feature alternate theatrical artwork (woman walking towards the town's sign in the fog).
    • Extras will be confirmed on a later date but we can confirm today this will be a 2-disc set and fully-loaded with extras. We are working closely with Director Christopher Gans.

Pre-orders on our site begin today which includes the Blu-ray plus a rolled 18” x 24” poster of the new art. The poster is exclusive to us and will be made at a limited-run: https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=7102

Very good horror film and maybe the only good video game adaptation?

Agree'd. The only one that I've liked anyway. Never saw the sequel. God the trailer for that looked dumb.

It was frustratingly close to a good adaptation, but Roger Avery had to fuck it all up in the end. Some of the visuals were absolutely perfect, though.

              What else is new?

What's going on with all of this "newly commissioned artwork"? Nobody ever likes it! It seems like a dishonest marketing tool that makes all of these older titles look like something they're not. Is that what it is? Trying to pass these oldies off as new movies to people who don't know any better? Are people actually fooled? Surely they know who's buying these fucking movies and it's not the kind of dum-dums you see walking around the mall. Is it just an excuse for the labels to give their struggling-artist pals some work to do? I can't imagine anyone on here who would display their collections with the new art and not the original poster art.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

Guilty! But not because I prefer the new art, I rarely (if ever) do, but because I'm lazy and all that's displayed are spines anyway.

But yeah, I agree. Most of the new art isn't my thing and I don't know who it is aimed at. The one big exception being the Vinegar Syndrome slipcovers, which are typically really really nice.

This is true. Their slipcovers are done with a lot of care.

I think you may have hit it, Matt....trying to market these "old" movies as something new and awesome. I dunno, for the most part, that new art is garbage on every single one of their releases. PS, I always flip them.

I liked the very end, it had a great Italian horror vibe, but pretty much everything past the school was total crap until then.

                          I could see that.

Also, the ending fit with some of the bad endings you can get in the games.

Christophe Gans was also a friend of Fulci. So the influence is there.
