    • Looks like I don't have to worry about RITUALS as it is sold out already.

      • I didn't go through with the order but Rituals has 'add to cart' up. Maybe they just put small batches up a little at a time?

I think I read they used a print owned by the director so unless that was used for the dvd, I'd think a new scan & some color correction, etc.would be a little bit better? I guess the negative is long gone...? I'll wait for reviews as I need to pay some other junk off first.

I believe that was just the copies that come with the free magnet.

            • Magnets to me are like swizzle sticks to John B. I just don't get it.

But hey, to each their own. I hope all the people who wanted magnets got them.

              • I'd rather have a non-magnet, non-slipcase $19.99 option esp for films I've bought multiple times.

Anyway, based on the screenshots in the review, how do you guys think it looks compared to the dvd? I'm curious how the damaged climax compares.

                • RITUALS is on the way. Tried to wait a couple more weeks but just could not hold back.

Caps on line look better overall for 95% of the flick but that dang cabin sequence is still murky.

Yeah I wouldn't take the opinion of one of those blu-ray.com kids as the final word on the matter

                      • Something looks off on the transfer for THE RETURN; the picture looks squashed as if someone blew-up a full frame master to 16X9. I thought the problem might've been fixed on the Blu-ray, but it's the same as the DVD.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

Their shipping is quick again too, at least to Canada. I've received 3 orders from them that I ordered after the one order I placed with Severin, and that one still hasn't arrived.

                              • Yes, they've always been really fast to the UK. £38 is the total for the film, shipping and now VAT they add. They always used to mark the value down so no tax, but now the UK government makes them collect it, so fair enough. Severin and VS still get away without collecting it somehow. 20% tax is much lower than the handling fees if you were caught, so can't complain.
