  • DON'T GO NEAR THE PARK

I watched this for the first time at the weekend. I've had the Dark Sky DVD sitting around the house for years and I've always managed to put it off.

It's dreadful and a bit of a chore but I managed to succumb to its lunatic charm. Lots of latex, grey hair and even a cheeky street urchin. Poor street urchin, I suppose he was an orphan too.

I think it may be the best random exploding van movie ever made.

Don't think I've ever seen it.

Notice how I started this post with "Don't?" Pretty rad, huh?

Well, there was quite a deep carpet in the van which would have been very flammable. It doesn't take much - just a spark.

No, what's rad is that lasers come out of someone's eyes and frighten a dog away. Don't let that put you off, though.

I think the writer and director played the guys in the back of the van just so's they could cop a feel of amulet girl.

That's amulet girl at the top of the slide, tickling the poor street urchin to death.

That may be the whole reason they made this movie.

That theory makes more sense than anything in the film.

This is a pretty good highlight reel:

And how the fuck did Aldo Ray wind up in that movie? Not that he was the most discriminating when it came to taking parts, but jeez...

It's Wiki, so take it with a grain, but I guess it was to pay for his medical bills.

That highlight reel's great, if heavily weighted in the favour of poor street urchin footage.

Aldo only buys flowers from him if they're fresh.
