  • Halloween 10 (2017) (Carpenter executiveproducer!)

John Carpenter, creator of the original Halloween films, will return to the franchise as executive producer on a new production of the iconic horror movie.
John Carpenter said, “38 years after the original Halloween I'm going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all.”

Glad to see Carpenter involved and handling the score. I will, however, keep expectations low.

They should get the guy who directed IT FOLLOWS...he will get the idea I think.

They dont need to get him to compose the music...uae the old one..hard to beat that!

Nice to see Carpenter commenting on the fact that the Shape is not a character but a force of nature....really hope he gets a chance to set the series back on track...but if it IS sucessful surely that will only lead to another load of sequels where they flog it to death and evntually ask Busta Rhymes to appear again..

It really is kind of a vicious circe. If this one does well, yeah, they'll beat it into the ground like they've been doing for a while now.

I just don't know what we need another Halloween movie, even if Carpenter is involved. If he were directing I'd maybe be more excited?

Just want them to make it SCARY again...and no gimmicks like found footage or web cam shit!!!.....

IT FOLLOWS had quite a few Carpenter~esque bits in it....with a bit of help he could maybe pull it off....

Surprising. Carpenter hasn't been involved since Halloween 3. It might be good or it might be just another cash in. Who knows.

They must be paying him a bunch to get him involved again.

I don't even think we needed a second one; the ending of Carpenter's original was perfect. It's possibly the most pointless and mediocre on-going horror series. Besides Part III and Rob Zombies's two contributions (particularly the second one) there isn't a single sequel that I enjoyed.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

Rumor has it that Mike Flanagan is going to write/direct.

Heard good things about Oculus. It's kind of weird now that both Friday the 13th and Halloween franchises are starting to hire competent people who have a passion for the material.
