I'd rather have the remake on Blu. Now that one is actually good. Was VERY underwhelmed by the original.

Some details on the upcoming Shout! Factory Blu-ray release:

                      ***BLACK CHRISTMAS Update***

It's not even Halloween yet but that isn't stopping us from humming holiday tunes today as we reveal to you a few more details about our upcoming release of Bob Clark's slasher film classic. Read on or “Billy” might call you up. ;-)

                      - Official street date is planned for December 6th

                      - This will be a branded as a 2-Disc "Collector's Edition" that will come with a slipcover.

                      - The festive, newly-commissioned front-facing artwork you see pictured comes to us from artist Joel Robinson (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Bubba Ho-Tep). The iconic original theatrical image (girl in rocking chair) will be on the reverse side of the wrap.

                      - Bonus features and specs are still in progress and will be announced sometime in Oct. But we can confirm though that we are in the process of doing a new film transfer.

                      - Pre-order now directly from our website @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/bla...ctor-s-… which includes shipping two weeks early plus a free 18” x 24” poster of the newly-designed key art (while supplies last)!

                          I hope it's an improvement.

WTF is up with the cover?
                          It's a HUGE spoiler.

btw~I've made one of the offensive calls as a ringtone :)

That cover is a further reason that Shout should just stick to original art instead of getting new stuff done. For the most part, the original can't be topped, and it avoids this kind of idiocy where you ruin the movie for new viewers.

They've been called out for this before, their stance is that they're making these SE's for collector's, people who have seen the movies, so it's not a big deal in their eyes. I see their point... and disagree with them. At least the sleeves are typically reversible.

Does it really give it away? I thought it was pretty obvious that it wasn't the boyfriend that was the killer. It was some random crazy that broke into the sorority for reasons.
