  • So if I want the "uncut" version of TCM: The Next Generation...

...I need to get the Lions Gate version with the "lipstick" cover and avoid the Sony?

I don't have my copy handy, but yeah, you want the Canadian DVD which I believe is from Lion's Gate. Also, the first pressing of the US DVD uses the same lipstick cover art so you can't just go by cover art alone.

Thanks. I noticed some "lipstick" ones for sale that said Columbia/Tri-Star on the back. I guess now I know why! Very helpful.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes this movie. The Canadian dvd is definitely the one with the longer Return cut, though it still has the awful Next Generation title. It's full frame too.

I recently bought the HDX version on Vudu. It's nice to have a 1080p copy but sadly it's the shorter cut.

I saw it during its theatrical release, which lasted about one night in Hamilton, Ontario. It was a lot of fun.

Easily the worst film in the franchise. I tried to watch it as a "so bad it's good" kind of trainwreck and couldn't make it.

Blasphemy, I know, but I found it easier to watch than TCM 2, which I find vastly entertaining during some scenes, and horribly annoying beyond belief during others.

^Agreed. I don't really like TCM 2, but I just ordered it...because I want to watch EGGSHELLS. Money well spent, I'm sure. ;)

If u like this Texas Chainsaw I advise u to check out Kim Henkels BUTCHER BOYS...very similar to Chainsaw but in an urban setting...and plenty of WTF scenes to enjoy..

TCM2 was such a trainwreck that I stopped there. The original TCM is a special film and I don't want it to be tarnished by sequels and remakes.

The Mcconaughey factor is strong with both of you. It can't be the Zellwegger factor...

Saw that one, or tried to watch that one, what a pile of shit. I gave it a chance but it was just too much of a trainwreck.

TCM 2 is a masterpiece. Best in the franchise. This next generation I have not seen though. But if it has the same "WTF??" vibe going, I may have to rectify that.
