It's due by the end of the year, no official release date yet.

That's great news! I love the film. I first heard of it from the RE/Search I.S.F. book then caught it on cable tv. I have the dvd that came out a handful of years ago, too.

I have the Rhino Elvira vhs that I burned onto a dvd. Still have quite a few pair of those glasses around here somewhere.

I saw this movie at the show on a re-release in the 70s. Below is a pair of the 3-D theater glasses. I find myself wearing them all times of the day.

Torontonians may be interested in knowing that this is playing at TIFF soon.

                So the BD looks great
                http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film5/blu-r...3D_blu-ray.htm

But the repro glassed they had made for the anaglyph version didn't fit the disc cases, and you must order separately from Kino ( a bummer for sure as the glasses are cool ).

Deets on how to buy a pair of these glasses from the HTF post on the film

For those who purchased THE MASK on Blu-ray but wish to obtain a pair of the anaglyph 3-D glasses (replicas of those given out upon the film's original theatrical release), Kino Lorber is making a limited quantity available to Home Theater Forum members via US Mail. The cost is $3.00 (postage included). Because quantities are extremely limited, the offer is limited to one pair of glasses per person.

Send a check or money order (sorry, no credit card orders accepted) for $3.00 to:

                Attn: Mask Glasses
                Kino Lorber Corp.
                333 West 39th Street, #503
                New York, NY 10018

Expect four weeks for delivery. Available in US/Canada only. Available for a limited time only — once our supply of glasses is depleted, an announcement will be made here and the offer will be ended.

I still have the original mask from the first release of the film- these look the same. Very cool. Too bad it's such a limited offer.

Great news on the quality of the blu. I'll be ordering very soon (is it already out? I know I have it on my Deep Discount wish list but haven't checked to see if it's in stock). May even buy a $3 money order- they're not taking PayPal?!?

I'd love to see an image of the original mask!

Turns out the glasses do fit inside a DVD case so a pair is included with the DVD.
Just the BD buyer has to buy them separately if so desired.
Weird, but that's they way Kino chose to handle it.

I missed one of the early posts with a link to the original glasses. I was hoping for an actual photo from someone who owned them or them wearing them or something.

This has a lot of good info & imagery: http://www.3dfilmarchive.com/the-mask-1

After much delay, I ordered the bd off of eBay for less than $20 with shipping.

I wonder if the 3-D glasses are still available? May drop an email before sending off my $3.00.

It's just like the old days!

I'll be sure to keep the 3-D glasses that came with the dvd of The Mask when I throw it out.
