Oddly enough they were talking about this on the news this morning while I was stuck in traffic on the highway.

It's a neat idea. And I like growing up stories.

Yes, I'm really interested in seeing this one too, though I'll most likely have to wait till it hits DVD/BD.

Very ambitious project. And I like Linklater. Will be seeing it for sure.

I'll have to confess that I started watching this when it first came out on Blu, got halfway through and found it really flipping depressing as it reminded me too much of watching my own kids grow up way too quickly - and realising they have to hit the brick wall of adulthood at some point.

It reminded me of the experience of Linklater's BEFORE trilogy, which he subjected me to over 20 years - from seeing BEFORE SUNRISE in '94 or '95, and then thinking it was naive and superficial but well-made; to seeing BEFORE SUNSET about 10 years later, and thinking that it retrospectively added a sense of depth and pathos to the first film; to seeing BEFORE MIDNIGHT about 5 years ago and feeling like Linklater had been waiting 20 years to deliver an emotional sucker punch.

(Actually I've been toying with buying the BEFORE trilogy on Blu now that the UK Criterion release is on offer, so maybe I should revisit those and commit to watching BOYHOOD the whole way through.)

I did watch it all the way through, and I am still unsure if I like it or not. A very ambitious undertaking, and certain to have a place in cinematic history because of it.

I did keep my blu of it though, despite doing a bit of a culling of my collection these last few weeks. So I would have to say it still intreagues me enough cinematically to consider watching it again at some point.

It's episodic television with a bunch of episodes taken out. It was alright, but I really don't understand whey it's considered revolutionary. It's a film shot on a TV schedule.
