  • Hopes for releases in 2014

What titles would you like to see get new releases (on DVD or BD) in 2014?

I'd love to see Lumet's PRINCE OF THE CITY, THE OFFENCE and/or THE HILL hit BD, personally. Plus more classic noir on BD too, please.

I would buy a large chunk of what folks have listed above. I'd also like to see these get a good blu ray treatment:

                  Il Demonio (1963)
                  The Devils (1971)
The Decline of Western Civilization (1981)
Lair of the White Worm (1988)
                  La Chiesa (1989)
                  Highway to Hell (1991)
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (1992) With restored deleted scenes as an extra.

                  and anything and everything Herzog.

I used to say that I would give a finger to get 3 Cannon films released on DVD. This year two of them (River of Death and Platoon Leader) were released on German DVD. Now only "Down Twisted" remains that I need to own. Perhaps 2014 will finally be the year when my life is complete.

I know one I sure as hell would like this year - VERGOGNA SCHIFOSI aka DIRTY ANGELS or literally SHAME ON YOU, SWINE (1968). Rewatched this not long ago, it's one of those fascinating Italian films so of its time; gorgeous, almost pop art art direction and beautiful photography - killer Morricone score too - it stars Lino Capolicchio in a tale of blackmail involving a sordid death in the past. It's sometimes lumped in as a giallo but it's really not one imo. The copy I have is anamorphic but kinda worn and dark with fansubs that race along too fast. I'd love a BD of this one, hey if we can get stuff like CHECKMATE TO THE QUEEN and DEATH OCCURRED LAST NIGHT, anything is possible...
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.
