  • Shia LaBeouf Gets Caught Ripping Off Daniel Clowes

....and now that he's been caught, admits it.

    http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013...howard-cantour

This kind of thing is ridiculous. You got lost in the creative process and forgot to thank the guy whose work you based your movie on...not just based, but borrowed heavily from, including dialogue???

I was reading about this earlier, it also seems it's not the first time he's allegedly "borrowed".

It continually amazes me that these people think they're going to get away with it....

Instead of giving him credit for an unauthorized adaption, why not go to Clowes and try to put together something legit?

Dumb ass trying to lie his way out of this...

I like how before he was caught, he "developed the script organically" based on his experiences with critics. Yeesh.

Love the fact that he even plagiarized his APOLOGY from someone else....

The first part of his apology is very similar to an entry on Yahoo! Answers written four years ago. A user named Lili wrote, “Merely copying isn't particularly creative work, though it's useful as training and practice. Being inspired by someone else's idea to produce something new and different IS creative work, and it may even revolutionalize [sic] the 'stolen' concept.”
LaBeouf wrote: “Copying isn't particularly creative work. Being inspired by someone else's idea to produce something new and different IS creative work.”

Man. What a fuckin knob that guy is. I didn't really have much respect for him, but if I had, it would be out the window at this point.

Completely unrelated, and not to diminish the douchiness of Shia, but I thought this link on that page was hysterical .... and just in time for x-mas: http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013...-candle-review

Hahaha! He's too slack to even write his own apology and formulate his own thoughts?

                    Shia, you're an idiot!

There's really no way for him to get out of this one, sorry. Game, set, match.

                      That was great.

                      SPOLIER:

Every 20 minutes or so, Boyle is allowed on to say a line, which she does weirdly quietly, as if talking in her sleep. Her facial expression never changes. And all the professional actors around her look stunned, like those Dallas cops when Jack Ruby stepped forward to shoot Lee Harvey Oswald.

He could have at least paid the guy to use his work. He can't be short on money.

Yeah, that's part of what bothers me....for a self-proclaimed "fan", he doesn't seem to give a shit about Mr. Clowes...or anyone other than himself.
