So first Eric Roberts was the talking cat, not he stars in.... Magic Puppy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Eric Roberts get an Oscar Nomination at one point?

Hasn't he been in some genuinely good movies?

Is he intentionally trying to commit career suicide or does he really need the money that bad?

Maybe he took this role so he could try to bone Kristine DeBell?

Quite simply, he has to earn money. Roberts is no longer a "A" list actor so he can sit around and wait for a major film that may pay him $100K (and he may only get one such offer per year, maybe less plus he would only be a supporting character) or work on a number of smaller films where he's a lead and earn about $30K each.

I love that they've put a totally different, more photogenic dog on the poster.

DeCoteau apparently has 'A Talking Pony!?!' in the works, sadly not with Eric Roberts but Kristine DeBell is in it. He's also made 'An Easter Bunny Puppy', the poster for which says "From the director of 'A Halloween Puppy' and 'A Christmas Puppy'". 'Halloween Puppy' is the original title of 'The Magic Puppy' and 'Christmas Puppy' is a re-titling of a film called 'Christmas Spirit' which doesn't seem to have anything to do with a puppy at all.

He's also made a Hansel & Gretel rip-off starring teenage twins named Booboo and Fivel Stewart. Jesus.
