"It is with great sadness that I have to report that my wife and best friend, Karen Black has just passed away, only a few minutes ago. Thank you all for all your prayers and love, they meant so much to her as they did to me."

RIP. She had a good run in the movies. Fuck cancer.

Yeah, Karen Black had a pretty unique ability to play likeable characters and then turn around and scare the hell out of you. Her last few scenes in BURNT OFFERINGS creeped me out big time when I was young. She was in a surprising number of really well done horror films. She was also fantastic in FIVE EASY PIECES. RIP.

She had a pretty unique screen presence and appeared in all sorts of crazy stuff. Rad that her first credit was an HG Lewis production.
