Yeah, I liked the book also. The film might.... might be ok. But all these CGI Movies are exactly alike. Even the camera pans within the CGI-verse are all exactly alike. But wtf. I hope they pull it off.

I like how this kid is named Butterfield. I guess they dont make people change their last names to get into showbizniz anymore.

I've stopped going to big-budget cgi movies, but this one looks like it might be tolerable and fun. I'm looking forward to it.

Im surrounded by left wing, insanely PC nut cases and there is a massive push on amongst them right now to boycott this film because of the authors stance on homosexuality. I think they're going to wind up giving this film a lot of free publicity. I know I'd never heard of it until they started bombarding me with it.

I'm boycotting it because it looks stupid.

              Re: Ender's Game

              Boycotting sounds pretty NAMBLA.

Card used to be an okay sf writer, but I guess he turned out to be a better Mormon.

I like my mormon sci-fi better when it's called Battlestar Galactica.

His stance on homosexuality is one thing, his contributing money towards Prop 8 via his jerkoff church is another. When an openly hateful person is using their wealth to keep people down, they can kiss it.

What it comes down to for me is there's always other stuff to spend my money on. Why reward hate?

And oh yeah what Roderick said, it look stupid..

Man that article reads like my Facebook feed for the last three months. The interviewer really made a good effort to come out as as big a dick as Card. Don't think I'll see this because its not my kind of thing but as for the protest... well I'm already looking forward to the new Polanski.

No, no, i meant it would be a bit contradictory to support a ban on this guys workbecause I don't like his ideas when I'm currently champing at the bit to see the new film by a guy who actually drugged and screwed a 14 year old. Sorry i find it tough to be clear when I'm typing on my phone.

Some people thought all this condemnation of Polanski would end in 1979 with the release of his film of atonement, Tess. But that didn't happen. What happened between Polanski, the fourteen-year-old and her designing mother is not our business. It's their private business, no matter how public some people have made it against their expressed wishes. Judging and condemning Polanski is not our business, either. The only thing we have a right to be concerned with, as filmgoers, is the art Polanski puts before the public. And his art is of a very high standard indeed. He is to cinema what Michelangelo is to sculpture, what Van Gogh is to painting, what Shakespeare is to playwriting. Polanski is one of the great filmmakers.
