  • Yes it is. I was surprised by that, actually, but it's hardcore and even has some (fuzzy tape sourced) bonus solo girl footage in the extra features.

    • I loved Papaya, so I'll add these two to the list ASAP. Caribbean D'Amato porn is exotic and funky.

Yeah, that was a fun surprise. Not a bad movie. I enjoyed it. Plus, "hunka chunka" is totally hysterical.

        • Last night... Basket Case. It looks pretty good on Blu-ray. More on that later.

That last thing I need to see is that bizarro Barry Williams' wang in HD.

            • London in the Raw (1964) -- very good sixties "mondo" styled doco produced by the great Stanley Long. And what an awesome package from BFI! Well worth the fiver! ;)

PS: Did I mention that the hair transplant footage made me cringe? No? Well, it did. Lucky that I'll never have that problem...

              • Cabin Fever 2: Pretty good. A solid 6 or 7 out of 10. No better or worse than the original.

Pathology: Underrated flick. Not a masterpiece but it does something different. I'd recommend it.

                • Subspecies - This was kinda fun, actually, some neat stop motion effects and cool Murnau/Herzog inspired vampires. A bit of nudity, some rad castles, bad fashion. I had fun with it.

Torso - I've always loved this movie, one of Martino's best and nastier than most giallos tend to be.

And the Blu-ray was...a revelation? Probably one of my favourite Martino films...

Edit: Ha! Didn't see the update on the main page. Spoilerific screenshots, again, for anyone who hasn't seen the film... :(

                    • I thought you didn't care about spoilers, Mike? In fact, you started a thread about that.

At any rate, if you don't get caps of the more iconinc moments in the film, people bitch. If you get caps of the iconic moments, well, apparantly that's a spoiler and a no no? You can't win sometimes.

                      • Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives: I'm in awe. Features ghost monkeys, ghost wife, commie-killing regrets and shocking bugzapper karmic damage, graphic kidney catheter drainage, illusion pool princess loreleiage and womb cavepool fish. Heaven is over-rated, there's nothing there, but there's a kind of hell to be found in motel tvs and karaoke restaurants. Really slow-moving, and Buddhist as hell, but I liked it.

Last night, I dreamt of the future. I arrived there in a sort of time machine. The future city was ruled by an authority able to make anybody disappear. When they found "past people", they shone a light at them. That light projected images of them onto the screen. From the past, until their arrival in the future. Once those images appeared, these "past people" disappeared. I was afraid of being captured by the authorities because I had many friends in this future. I ran away. But wherever I ran, they still found me. They asked me if I knew this road or that road. I told them I didn't know. And then I... disappeared.

                        Mystifying, and wonderful.

The Canadian blu's cheap and fine.

I was just having a lend, dude. As I remembered something you said in that thread about giving away the end of films being "not cool"... ;)
My apologies for not explaining the joke with the necessary amount of smilies.

                          • I have the Strand DVD and have been putting it off. I don't know why. I need more kidney catheter drainage movies in my life.

Neither the Torso review nor the Basket Case review give away the endings. Plot points, ok, I'll give you that.

Just...having...a...lend. I can remove all of the posts where the joke fell flat on its face, if you like? :)
                                I was having a smart-arsy kid with you...nothing mean-spirited intended.
But everything you say is true, and those were the points of my thread: you're damned if you don't, and damned if you do.
Someone's always going to scream "SPOILER!" no matter what any of us do.
You post a pic from, as you said, an iconic moment - someone will claim it's a spoiler. But if you don't, those in the know will say "where's a pic from X scene?"
It's really a no win scenario, isn't it?
