    • Night Has A Thousand Desires
This did not click with me at all. I just cannot get on board with Franco's 80's.
The actors are uninteresting in both looks and talent. Lina's ever the trooper
(god bless her) but I'm not a big enough fan of her to not get bored by this. I
know I'm shallow but give me early 70's Lina over slightly over the hill chunky,
awful hair cut Lina any day. I love her commitment and loyalty to Jess, though.
She really gives her all. Jess appears as a psychiatrist. He's done this mind control
plot better in the past to much better effect. I guess it's interesting as a project
where he had complete artistic freedom. But damn is this film ever slow. It took me
three 30 minute chunks over three days to get through it. I did like the groovy orgy
scene but all the rest was an awful chore. I will say it's somewhat well shot. I'll keep
watching his 80's stuff from a completists approach but so far only Sadomania and Bloody
Moon have appealed to me from his 80's output.

      Perverse Countess
Now this is my kind of Franco bag. Early 70's, groovy soundtrack, beautiful/interesting
women (Kali Hansa ), Alice Arno being creepy and the great Howard Vernon being
deliciously sinister. Cool shooting locations and beautiful cinematography. The plot is a Most
Dangerous Game thingy with a cannibal spin to it. At least I don't remember any cannibalism
in the 30's film. I haven't seen it in forever. To me this is peak Franco. Great stuff!

      The Diabolical Dr Z
Another key Franco title. I was stunned by how fantastic the blu-ray looks. Another mind control
murder by proxy thingy only this time not boring. Well shot and decently acted by all. The make
up fx looks more than a little cheesy (especially in HD Blu-Ray). It looked like the super basic stuff we
practiced in school once. Estella Blain looks smashing (but seems to rock a wicked moustache in some
shots) and acts well as the stripper/dancer turned poisoned claws assassin. The first time I saw this film
I was fairly new to Franco and didn't much like it. Watching it again I enjoyed it much more. It's a cool
film and a must in your collection.

      Paris When It Sizzles
I fucking love this movie. It's funny and delightful. I revisit this often. It gets shit on quite a lot but I think
it's great. It's overtly silly but it's supposed to be. It's so much fun almost two hours just fly by. Audrey Hepburn
and William Holden were a great pairing and their behind the scenes history added some needed gravitas to the
whole thing. Richard Quine knew how to make these fun wildly inventive, zany films. I never tire of this movie. It's
the perfect pick me upper on a gloomy day.

      • ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA - Watched this for the third time - and the first time in over 10 years - and only now do I realize what a profoundly sad film this is. I'd imagine it will only become more and more powerful as I get older. The way the passage of time is portrayed here is really incredible. I love how long the film is, yet you still feel that you don't quite know the characters. A really unique epic.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

            • Blade Runner 2049: a beautiful film. Absolutely outstanding but incredibly slow. Kudos to the studios for putting this out but no wonder it bombed. Not a lot of people have that level of patience.

              • Vice Squad
Still vicious and great. Wings Hauser is truly terrifying as homicidal pimp Ramrod who's hell bent on killing the hooker that dared to bite back. Great film! Shout's blu-ray is...eh... ok. Pretty noisy. I know they shot at night and it was a low key on the fly production but still. This should look better. Great extras but maybe they should've put them on a separate disc because they're several and each an hour long give or take. The film, awesome. The disc, probably the best we'll get.

                Django The Bastard
Pretty cool, somewhat gothic and eerie western with genre icon Anthony Steffen. A mysterious avenger comes to town and starts killing folks who wronged him in the past. Possible inspiration for Clint Eastwood's High Plain's Drifter. Cool film. Synapses blu-ray looks mostly good, if a little noisy. Again, doubt we'll ever see better.

                Fantomas
The first of the 60's revival. Randomly caught this one day after school when I was younger and have loved it to death ever since. Snappy, fast paced, gorgeous and 60's cool as fuck. The villain design is iconic and Marais plays both the hero and the villain perfectly. Louis De Funes provides the comedy and lovely Mylene Demongeot provides the beauty as well as the ballbusting. Great fun!

                Fantomas Se Dechaine
Part 2 of this fun excellent series. Not as good as the first but still super solid and very funny. Some nice James Bond nods here with cool ass lairs, flying Scaramanga cars and plenty of cool ridiculous gadgets for commissaire Juve to misuse in his pursuit of Fantomas. Fast paced fun with game actors.

                Dany La Ravageuse
Sandra Julien was one of the hottest women to ever walk the face of the earth. This comedic series of goofy to serious vignettes is a flimsy excuse to get her out of her clothes and into wacky situations. Plot is wafer thin but it doesn't matter. Hitchhiker meets a bunch of weirdos ranging from deeply religious Italian butterfly collectors, perverted sadist couples, vicious bank robbers (here it veers off into rape and murder) to lesbian trannies and slick con men. Plenty of great nudity here. I wish someone put this out on a good blu-ray. The Swedish dvd is ok but still.

                Fantomas Contre Scotland Yard
Last Fantomas entry. Sadly... because this film too is lots of fun. Fantomas extorts super rich people and one of them invites commissaire Juve and Fandor with girlfriend Helene to his spooky, supposedly haunted, castle in Scotland. Lots of fun parody of the supernatural with seances and ghosts in sheets running around, bodies appearing and disappearing. The fox hunt shenanigans drag a little but nothing too bad. I love these films. I have the french blu-ray's that are english friendly and they look great for the most part. The third film looks the worst with several soft shots with washed out colors but it doesn't detract too much from the experience.

                Roots Of Evil
Fun sleaze! Gary Graver remakes his own porn film (Trinity Brown) but with proper actors (well...). It stars some guy I've never heard of, who's terrible, called Alex Cord. At least he's got a bitchin' moustache. Jillian Kesner, who's also terrible, of Firecracker fame plays one of the cops hot on the tail of a deranged killer who stalks around L.A at night soliciting then killing hookers. Charles Dierkop does a god job as the murderer. You almost feel sorry for the creep. He's chewing scenery like crazy and it's great. You don't want this guy rolling up on you at night looking for sum fuk. Easily the best actor in here. Brinke Stevens shows up briefly and some other random bimbos round out the cast to flash their titties at every opportunity. It's a boobie bonanza! This movie knows exactly what it is and has fun with it. I love it.

                The Syndicate
This Rutger Hauer/Mark Dacascos B-movie masterpiece has a lot of different titles but in Sweden it was released as The Syndicate (though the dvd disc is labeled Redline). It doesn't make sense plotwise but this is so well put together it doesn't matter. It's got a fantastic retro futuristic esthetic that works wonders. A real homerun as far as that's concerned. The actors are decent (Hauer excellent as always) and the action is plenty and fun. There's even a mini Battleship Potemkin remake in there and a nice dig at fake news. Hauer is a small time smuggler who's betrayed by Dacascos and killed. The government re-animates Hauer for some reason I didn't quite understand. He goes on a revenge quest to kill Dacascos character. Hooker/CIA operative Yvonne Scio (One of the most beautiful women I've ever seen) becomes his aide and sidekick. Lots of nudity and sex and violence and a good soundtrack. It's well shot too. I've loved this film since the first time I saw it as a teen. Sadly no blu-ray but the dvd is decent.

                • Picnic At Hanging Rock (Tv show)
2 episodes left. Barely paying attention at this point. Meandering and sloooow. Semi fastforwarding through the rest.
Also, how is Agent Smith's niece Samara Weaving the next miss thang in Hollywood? Talk about bootleg Margot Robbie
(another actress about as interesting as a piece of cardboard, in both looks and "talent"). It's either nepotism or she be
                  sucking them dicks.

                  The Deuce - Season 1
I read the period detail is absolutely spot on (I wouldn't know, since I'm Swedish and way too young to ever have been there)
but besides that, this is oddly boring. I find myself playing candy crush occasionally only to be drawn back into it by the sex scenes
randomly thrown in, and James Franco's cockwombling arrogance of playing two parts (half the time I don't know who's who) hampers
things quite a bit. I'm surprised how explicit they went with some of it but as someone who does not find Maggie Gyllenhaal unattractive,
I'm not complaining. And she kind of carries it as the ho with ambitions above her station. I could give two fucks about Franco's brother
characters. It makes me wonder though. Back then it couldn't have been too hard to get a regular decent job as a young woman (single
mother or not) so why exactly is she a whore? She clearly has a head on her shoulders, is economical with her money and is certainly
ambitious. Again, I'm Swedish but from what my parents have told me, back in the day you could just pick up the phone and call pretty
much any place you desired and ask if they needed people who could work, then pretty much start the next day or two. It doesn't really
make sense. Anyway. I'll keep watching because of her. I can't help feeling season one is baity though and they'll scale back the perviness
in the other seasons. Especially since they hired a James Franco wrangler after the Metoo shenanigans. Also, best scene in the whole season
was when the mild mannered diner guy just casually blows away an annoying pimp, hahaha... I almost spit coffee all over the floor.

                  Scooby Doo 1 & 2 (the Raja Gosnell two-fer)
Haters can suck it! These are fucking great. Still as much fun as the first time I saw them. They fucking nailed these!

                  Cobra Kai - Season 1
I was super sceptical of this and was never a big fan of the movies but I gotta say... This is pretty fucking great so far. 5 episodes
in and I'm grinning like an idiot. Billy Zabka rules.

                    I Was A Man

The true story of Ansa Kansas, an intersex woman raised as a man. Surprisingly heartfelt drama through an exploitation lens, with plenty of random nudity thrown in for good measure. Three stars.

                    Bat Pussy

The anti-fuck. Beyond insanity. I loved every single minute.

                    Emanuelle And Franí§oise

Forced cuckoldry. Cannibalistic hallucinations. Rosemarie Lindt. Two thumbs up and an extra two on a plate.

                    Supersoul Brother

One of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. An overlooked modern classic if there ever was one. Five out of five surprise wristwatches.

                    Sextoons

An erotic animation compilation film, running the gamut from sleazy cartoon fuckfests, to more experimental and arty cartoon fuckfests. A grab bag, but mostly a good one. Three out of five anthropomorphic genitalia.

                      Bay Of Blood
Still flipping fantastic. One of my favorite films of all time. Great music, amazing cinematography and cool actors. Hella violent and even sleazy. Amazing film.

The shit recut of Lisa & The Devil. Elke gives it her all (bless her heart) but it's not enough. Sort of fun from a trash perspective though.

Can I ask in what way, Nabonga? I've got the first season of THE DEUCE lined up in my 'to watch' pile but if it takes a huge dive in season two, I might not bother investing time in it.

I'd like to hear that too. I watched season 1 just a few weeks ago and enjoyed it, although it was a bit less exciting than I was expecting (and I kept praying Maggie Gyllenhaal to keep her clothes on). Haven't proceeded to season two yet because it isn't streaming for "free" at Amazon Prime like season 1.

                          • Wierd Science. (198something) It's kind of a morality tale I guess. Two geeks lust after a pair of hot female class mates. Being geeky sorts the lovely, if vapid, ladies are entirely unattainable. So they build themselves the perfect woman to teach themselves confidence thus winning the hearts of the hearts of the high school they lusted after. Then in an incredibly confusing moment our hero tells his hot female creation "you were everything I wanted. Until I knew what I wanted." No! You were lusting after the two hot highschool girls, you got the two hot high school girls. Which is exactly what every teenage boy wants to start with- excepting the gay ones of course. Nothing was learnt here! However much Hughes try to make it look like wisdom was gained and lessons were learnt this is a tale about bedding your fantasy girl. In this type of film for it to make sense they needed to wind up with the bookish girl who uses glasses to hide how hot she is. Not a good film but I watch it almost annually anyway. A guilty pleasure over which I feel no guilt.

Right after Lisa first appears in the doorway and asks the boys "So, what do you little monsters want to do first?" there should have been a shock cut to her getting DP'd by Wyatt and Gary (preferably with her own panties stuffed in her mouth). Now that would've been funny.
