  • Eat the School Girl: Eh, you're typical Japanese Pink film. Nothing too special. Some nice imagery though.

    • Humongous - hooray for Canadian horror movies with rape babies and dogs and gore and titty berries.

      • I've been in a spaghetti western mood lately, so I dug out my old copy of Companeros and watched it Tuesday night. I'm generally not so much into the comedic elements of Italian westerns, so this one started off kinda slow for me. By the end though, I was jumping off the couch, waving my fist in the air and singing along with the theme song! Corbucci + Nero + Milian + Palance + Morricone = cinematic gold.

        • THE TOOLBOX MURDERS(1978)-Starts out with a very strong 20 minutes and then sort of meanders off.

But I'll bet you could go for a lollipop right about now.

            • Last night, the Fright Night remake. I expected to hate it and I didn't hate it. Colin Ferrell wasn't bad in his role, it was a bit bloodier than I expected it to be, and it had a few funny moments. Loads of bad CGI towards the end but it was inoffensive and moderately entertaining.

                • Don't Open Till Christmas - this doesn't make much sense but Caroline Munroe shows up and drops a musical number. Lots of boob, lots of blood, lots of guys in Santa suits and Dick Randall shows up in a disco. Mondo Macabro's transfer is really nice the disc has a 50 minute featurette on the making of the movie in the extras. Good stuff.

The History Of Captain Power is an hour and a half on the history of the show with some neat interviews with the cast and crew, some production art, some behind the scenes stuff. Neat. I was 12 when this show first came out.

                  • I was over at a friend's house Friday night and he was aghast that I'd never seen "Fire And Ice", so we fired it up on Netflix. The plot made little or no sense to me, but otherwise this is vintage Ralph Bakshi rotoscoping goodness.

                    • Last night, in addition to Christmas stuff, I also watched a rad 70s sex documentary called The ABC's of Sex & Love Australian Style. They went through the alphabet, more or less (they missed one or two letters) and gave us examples of 'sex things' that started with that particular letter. R stood for rape in the sex alphabet. Apparantly some women like it as a fantasy, but the movie said it wasn't ok to do it in real life, even while it showed us what it was like.

I have been wanting to see this since it was mentioned in Not Quite Hollywood.

It's awesome. My review will be up tomorrow, with some chicken-wing-tastic screen caps!

Last night... Fly Me. A Corman production about stewardesses who take off their clothes a lot and fight kung fu guys. It also features a rapist who notes that he's a Canadian citizen, and an old Italian mother who follows her stewardess daughter around Asia making sure she doesn't screw anyone.
