Sounds like a lark. What's the movie?

      • It was indeed. Hadn't seen it before, it's horrible, but also awesome.

I'm really looking forward to it. It sounds fist-clenchingly bad in a worst of the 80's way.

          • The Velvet Vampire - This one was pretty out there for a vampire movie, definitely had a cool surrealist vibe to a lot of it. Not the fastest moving film nor the most horrific but it had some great desert scenery, plenty of nudity and a whole lot of 'weird' to it.

More - I never understood why some people 'dig' Mimsy Farmer but I do now, she's pretty captivating in this one even if she does play a junkie. Lots of great scenery from the Ibizia locations, some good performances and a pretty nifty soundtrack by 'The Pink Floyd' - a grim movie, but I dug it. The BFI Blu-ray is pretty solid.

            • Time Walker - mummies are cool and scientists can be but watching scientists talk about things isn't always very exciting. It has its moments though.

Albert Pyun's Captain America - dopey but fun. The Red Skull is awesome and this movie makes me wish I had a shield.

I still really want to see Time Walker.

I was kinda zoning out during Cap, but didn't they make the Red Skull Italian in this? I could've sworn I heard a lot about Mussolini.

                • Sucker Punch (2011) -- Hey, I'm surprised that no-one's picked that this is a contemporary reworking of Terry Gilliam's Brazil, right down to the oversized samurais? Anyway, I loved it. Only watched the theatrical cut, at this stage, but will watch the extended cut later on some time

                  • Burning Moon - crazy German splatter from Olaf Ittanbach featuring bad German fashions and bad German music. It's pretty awesome, actually. The ending is so over the top and insane that you kinda have to love it.

                    • Amorous Sisters - this was basically a Six Swedes movie, except there wasn't the recycling of the same music over and over again. It did feature pretty much the same cast though and the obligatory slow motion running through the forest scene was there too.

Secrets of a French Maid - more Dietrich softcore, this time with Lahaie and Gambier. Mike would like this. Eric Falk is in it too, as is the weird albino muscle dude from the Six Swedes movies. Goofy, sexy, fun.

Yes, sadly it was the one VIP/ABC DVD that got away from me. I was going to bang together an order with this, Rolls Royce Baby and Caged Women (or Island Women, or whatever it's called) from Amazon Germany...and this one went OOP. I just kinda gave up on the others after that...

                        • It's tough one to find, all those discs are now. We had to get them second hand on eBay and they weren't cheap, but I don't see this stuff getting reissued any time soon (though I'd love to be wrong).

Yesterday - A Horrible Way To Die - not a bad movie but they should have called it a horrible way to shoot a movie because the shaky cam action almost made me puke in a few spots. The acting and the story were pretty good though.

The Devil Within Her (aka I Don't Want To Be Born) - Joan Collins gives birth to an punchy evil baby that sorta turns into an evil midget while Donald Pleasance flirts with a nun and strippers get naked. This was a pretty awesome movie.

                              • I need to rewatch the end of The Devil Within Her. I was dozing off towards the end as much as I was trying to fight it. Really fun movie.
