Yeah it's a great movie, but I think it was just as relevant in the mid-90s as it is now. I believe the spawning of cable news channels is really what began that end of objectivity you mentioned. When I first saw it I left the theater kind of annoyed. It was more like a long PSA...yes we get it...media BAD. But the second time I really dug it and now I watch it whenever I catch it on tv.

It was Rock-mania on TV tonight! One station was running Walking Tall, and the other Welcome to the Jungle (The Rundown). So I got stuck watching Jungle, as I'd forgotten how funny, aggressively light, and fun it was. I do love me some Mr. Johnson when the mood takes me. And...Rosario Dawson! America's foxiest actress. Mmmm-mmmm...

Last night - The Magnificent Seven. Another one that I seem to be able to go back to a lot. Great cast, great set pieces, great dialogue, great cinematography - a great movie, really.
