Ninja III the domination-Shout Blu Ray

She wanted comedic action. So I grabbed a 80s Cannon ninja film. Seen this many times. This time got me thinking how I never see anyone drinking V8 anymore.

Got this in one of my thrifting runs. Paid under a buck. Mostly is them on a stage redoing old bits from their records. With them doing a few new pieces.

Worth seeing if you are a fan of them. If not avoid it.
Cop: "And how long have you been in Mexico, sir?"
    Cheech: "A week...uh, I mean a day."
Cop: "Well, which is it--a week or a day?"
    Cheech: "Uhh, a weekday."

Wes Craven's Summer of Fear: I'd seen this once before, many years ago, and I'd say it's the best of Craven's TV movies (I remember Invitation to Hell being decent and Chiller being awful). Obviously, it's a TV movie from the 70's, so they couldn't get too extreme, but I found it to be quite enjoyable. I recently learned of and picked up a 2017 Blu-Ray, which not only has a commentary with Craven from the old DVD but also has a new interview with Linda Blair.

Yeah that zombie was fake as hell, it's been awhile since I saw it, but I still recall that scene--I think he gets hit with a fireplace poker, correct? Ha, ha! I guess they tried to shoot it from behind thinking maybe it wouldn't look as cheap, but...whatever, I still prefer that to CGI crap anyday.

For me, the ability to buy the tough female lead that kicks everyone's ass really depends on the individual actress and the particular film.

I recently saw a video where somebody both criticized what they did with Barbra and Patricia Tallman's acting, saying she was over-the-top. It was a person I like, for the most part, but that made me think, "Wow."

It's a shame, given his recent death, that they were never able to get Tony Todd in to do an interview about this movie.

Had time to kill this morning before taking Maggot Ass the Wonder Mutt to the vet for her annual shots.

The Best of Benny Hill DVD-Anchor bay released 1 hour 26 minutes of what I am guessing is early 80s era Benny Hill skits. I saw this as a kid and loved it. It was color Three Stooges to my 7 and 8 year old mind, plus aired right before BSG reruns. Now I get all the jokes I didnt then. Chuckled a few times.

Kung Fu Trailers of Fury Blu ray- 2hours of Martial arts trailers with a fun commentary.

No One Heard the Scream - The disappointment of putting in a thriller and finding that it's one that spends the whole time trying to cover up a single crime is crushing!!! They're always such a bore when they're like this and then in this one we get a villain who just never shuts up and is annoying to listen to. Ugh...

Movie night here trying to work down the bought but not watched DVD pile

R66M 6-Yea that is how it is spelled. Christine Taylor and the fat kid from Stand by me have a car wreck, their loved ones get taken off in an ambulance. But they have no clue which hospital they are taken too.

This starts off a bit like The Ambulance, minus the Stan Lee cameo, then adds in some Jacob's Ladder.

Kane Hodder has a small part. And young Chloe Grace Moretz plays creepy maybe psychic kid.

Really the making of documentary is as good if not better than the film. This is made by the director and writer of House of the Dead 2 and their love for horror shows in this film.

Croczilla-2012 Chinese made creature feature. Giant croc gets sold to a group of morons. It escapes and eats a lady's purse with 1 million Euros inside it. So we get the lady, the croc's original owner and a cop after the croc. A croc that is heading off to lay eggs.

Bad dubbing and a few ropey looking CGI effects instead of hurting this movie helped make it much more entertaining than all the made for SYFY creature features of this era.

Stuart Gordon's Castle Freak: Had seen this once before but recently got it on Blu-Ray. I shouldn't be surprised, given how it was Gordon, but I'd forgotten how grisly this movie is. Jeffrey Combs gives another good performance, the Castle Freak himself is really memorable, and the castle settling is cool. However, I find Barbara Crampton's character to be really unlikable.

    The Crow (2024)-4kUHD

She loves the original film, and doesn;t mind the sequels and that forgotten TV show. I love the comic and think the first movie is decent. Which means I got told when I found this recently to Buy it and I will pay you back.

Similar story to the first film and comic. Stuff is changed. Gorgeous looking film. Great soundtrack and for me it feels more like the comic than the original film did.

I get why this was hated before even a trailer was out. I wasn't a teen when that original film came out. I was a drunk that went to the base theater each night and saw whatever was playing.

Not as good over all as the original but better than any of the sequels.

Dont pay the 35 bucks for the 4k. Unless you just gotta have this in the best quality. Rent it.

Oh man Monster Squad was great as a kid.

Had to kill time before work saw the Poltergeist remake was on Youtube.

It's forgettable and wasn't needed. Besides a similar story the only other thing it shares with the original is Tobe Hooper not directing the film.

    But yea very skippable.
