Blood and Bone (USA, 2009) 8/10 **
The fights are the draw of the film and they don’t disappoint. They are some of the most impressive I’ve seen in this type of film. The story isn’t identical but follows a similar pattern to Lionheart. Michael Jai White is a specimen. He is huge but moves so incredibly quick. I really dig his mysterious, quite stranger wanders into town, character. Certainly has a Fistful of Dollars vibe. I love that he’s an unstoppable force that never comes close to finding an equal. Eamonn Walker is an exceptional villain. He plays it quite but incredibly intense with eyes that stare daggers. His chiseled features give him a great villain look. There isn’t any sleaze in the film but it doesn’t need it. It keeps a good pace and has compelling characters.
