It is douchebags like them that give indie wrestling a bad name. None of those fucks were trained. It showed when they ran the ropes and locked up. I mean hell I got barebones training back in 2004. And haven't been inside a ring since 2005. But I bet I could still run the ropes and lock up properly.

Haven't seen this since renting the VHS a long ass time ago. Kind of a more comedic less gory version of Dead/Alive. You got Steve Buscemi,Ned Betty and some lady who married Kevin Sorbo not long after this movie came out.

Bond, part 4

Casino Royale (UK, 2006) [VoD] - 3.5/5
Bond goes Bourne, only colder. Weak action (the airport sequence is particularly boring) and aimless plot almost sink the 1st half, but the 2nd half is some of the best filmmaking in the Bond series. The casino scenes are excellent. Some good characterization too, and the funniest torture scene ever. The theme song is in line with other modern Bonds: you'll forget about it before it has even finished playing.

Quantum of Solace (UK, 2008) [VoD] - 3/5
The worst action scenes in the entire franchise (the opening car chase, where you can't tell what the hell is going on, isn't even the worst offender when the film's got the ridiculous church / Spiderman fight coming later). The storyline and characterization, however, are actually quite good. It's a solid film whenever there's no action.

Skyfall (UK, 2012) [VoD] - 4/5
An excellent anniversary Bond that manages to balance fun nods with a good storyline. Deakins' cinematography looks marvellous, although a tad digital. The action scenes are good as well, with the kind of sense of physicality that proper action films need. Just one gripe: the scene at the end with the flashlight! Really? Can't think of a dumber scene in the entire series.

Spectre (UK, 2015) [VoD] - 3/5
There's a lot wrong with this film, being probably the dullest looking film in the series (despite the 35mm lensing), and trying utterly some ridiculous “it's all connected” crap with its storyline. Yet, it's a captivating, entertaining film all the same. Léa Seydoux makes the best Bond girl in a couple of decades (even if the character is still pretty forgettable).

No Time to Die (UK, 2021) [DCP] - 2.5/5
Spectre, part II. This one starts out very strong with some excellent action and equally riveting drama. Then it just... goes... on...for nearly 3 hours. We've got an attempt at presenting a more sensitive Bond, one of the lamest Bond villains of all time, and a new female 00 agent who steals screen time but never really the spotlight (one might ask why bring her in at all if she's not allowed to shine, but I suppose that's the underlying ideology behind the film: make everyone equal until no one stands out). And all this is before some they throw in one particularly cringeworthy element tailor made for the modern era. Also disappointing is how routine and unexciting all the action becomes after the excellent opening. All that being said, the film's last few moments are satisfying. And I must reprise my praise for Léa Seydoux: she's stunning.

Boss Level: Live, Die, Repeat but without the charm. Very pedestrian, violent take on the Groundhog Day formula the only thing of interest here is, does Frank Grillo have what it takes to be the next Gerard Butler/Tom Hardy? He does have an easy charm. Range may be an issue. Here he's playing a badass soldier and his performance is identical to when he was playing a tortured artist in Billions. He probably wants to spend less time in the gym for the roles he's best suited for. I expect to see a lot more of him all the same.

Rounders: I'm not sure this is great. Its a pretty cliched story arc and character motivations are pretty thin but I enjoyed it just because of the respect it gave to its audience and the respect it gave to poker. It is to poker what the Queens Gambit is to chess. Example, during the last hand played (SPOILERS!) it shows Damon get dealt an 8 and a 9. It then shows a 6, 7 and a 10 get dealt on the flop. Damon then starts checking. If you don't know Hold 'Em, if you weren't following closely, there's no other clues that Damon got a near unbeatable hand on the flop and is just checking to trap his opponent. You know when when Malkovich starts sliding his chips forward that Damons got him but only if you were following and know the game. I can't think off hand think of another movie that puts that much trust in its audience. Downright refreshing.

Reminiscense HBO Nordic became HBO Max today, and my subscription carried over, so I gave this a chance.

Sometimes I feel that some Hollywood movies would have worked so much better without a huge budget and name actors, as straight up B-movies. This is definitely the case here.

Cause there is a decent film hiding in this horrible turd, there really is. It is just ruined by some seriously lousy acting and glossy hollywood storytelling. Everything about this feels so un-genuine and fake, and there is so much dialogue that is just there to explain the obvious to viewers who are clearly not used to watching science fiction.

I enjoyed it when I saw it in the theatre (yep, my girl was a fan of Dawson's Creek as well), and I rewatched a few years back and laughed. The high in the supermarket scene with the Macarena cracks me up. Love Timothy Olyphant in this one as well.
