Somebody asked me once how that was, and I said that Pesci is basically a dumber version of Leo Goetz telling Riggs about Froggy.

As a whole, so very very flawed. There are interesting things here though but not nearly enough, plus it's too long. Jeff Bridges carries the whole thing. Remove him and this would be unwatchable. Apparently this had issues during shooting and Oliver Stone wanted his name taken off and the other writer used a pseudonym. Towards the end where they just shout at each other in a warehouse is painfully bad and feels like shitty school theatre. Particularly from Andy Garcia.

First time seeing this. Wildly inventive and just pure fun. Loved it.

It's an interesting movie, but I read somewhere that Hal Ashby encouraged the actors to improvise and they're just not very good at it; lots of pointless stammering and repeated lines. I agree that it goes on for far too long.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

            • Dark Knight Rises. The logic doesn't hold up and the violence is gutted by the PG-13 unlike Dark Knight. I still like it but it's definitely not as good as Dark Knight.

              • The Disorderly Orderly. One of the most terrifying film experiences I have had in a long while. It's just wrong at every ethical level, and morally upside-down. I found it more disturbing than the boring torture porn "horror" movies of late, or even something like Lost Highway.

Very cool vampire/mob movie. Really liked this. Robert Loggia's awesome as always and it's fun to see some of the Sopranos dudes milling about in here. Putting this on my to buy list.

                  Eraser
The last truly great Schwarzenegger movie. Everything works beautifully despite one or two dodgy fx moments. But other than that everyone is on their a game. Especially James Caan. The pacing is perfect. It feels like 70 minutes when it's close to two hours. I love the goofy mob guys Arnold seeks help from. And those rail guns are fucking badass. Throw in a couple of awesome one liner moments and fairly hardcore violence and you've got a real 90's winner. Watching this makes me sad to see one of the most charismatic dudes in movie history being utterly wasted these days in cack like Terminator Gendercyst and Biebernator-Fart Fate. Especially when he's got a cool grizzled aura about him these days. He could be doing a lot of cool shit instead. Like King Conan. But today that'd just get turned into Woke Nan instead.

Pretty poor. The jokes are telegraphed from a mile away. And most of them aren't really that funny. I don't think Pesci went full retard as much as the entire film did. Glover is equally bad if we're gonna point fingers at someone. I don't hate it but it's just a lame duck. Seen lots worse over the years. Like The Favourite (Fuck it soooo much!!!).

Class Of 1999 Part Deux - Sasha Mitchell boogaloo
Very enjoyable 90's action shlock with a game Sasha Mitchell sans roids. Saw a youtube interview from a year or two ago (seems like a nice unassuming jovial dude) and the guy looked like Rich Piana. I love how all the delinquent yutes all look to be pushing 40 and Mitchell looks like a snot nosed 18 year old here. I started to get bored a little in the middle of the film but then the hot ass leading lady showed her boobs in a gloriously cheesy sex scene, so that was nice. Didn't expect that since she seemed like a nudity dodger. That's expert filmmaking 101 right there, how to reel people back in when you're losing them. The rest of the movie was a nice round of deadly paintball in the woods. I would like to see a blu-ray of this. It's a stupid but fun little movie.

                      • Jungle Holocaust. Probably the only Italian cannibal film I think is actually a good film (not a fan of Cannibal Holocaust) and I'm listening to Ian and Horace's commentary. Good job guys and the film looks great.

I'd really love to see the 3.5-hour assembly cut that the theatrical cut was whittled out of. Maybe one day...
