Was it called Breaking The Code? If so, I saw that and it was pretty good.

This should amuse: Last night I started watching The Pearl Phoenix (1967), a Shaw Brothers Huangmei Opera...but after about an hour it put me to sleep. Today, while the little guy had his afternoon nap, instead of finishing it I decided to watch Invincible Enforcer (1979), another Shaw film and one of Hong Kong's first prison dramas. It was okay for about an hour, but then it started to get all preachy and full of naff social commentary...and I fell asleep. Tonight I'm going to take a crack at The Young Rebel (1975), another Shaw film and one of David Chiang's juvenile dramas...let's see if sleep prevails. Verdict tomorrow...

The Young Rebel (1973) -- Directed by Ti Lung and starring David Chiang; Dave's a young guy whose father is killed in an accident and he's left to look after his mother and sister. He takes a job as a delivery boy but (expectantly) falls in the wrong crowd and ends up working for a triad. Decent little picture, with some tolerable kung fu and a strong moral message. However, I doubt the morality of the piece, or the "always do the right thing" message would wash with the internet generation. Anyway, I liked it and it didn't put me to sleep. ;)
