R.I.P. Composer and Actor RYUICHI SAKAMOTO.

Sakamoto's work with the Yellow Magic Orchestra first brought him attention around the world and later, his Oscar winning score for THE LAST EMPEROR won him fame. His other scores included MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. LAWRENCE, THE SHELTERING SKY, the anime WINGS OF HONNEIMAISE and THE REVENANT (often in collaboration).
His other works included teaming up with David Byrne, Thomas Dolby and Iggy Pop. He was a true globe-trotting, genre-spanning talent.
He will be missed, but his music shall endure.

I really only know him through his soundtrack work although I've heard a few YMO tracks here and there. RIP.
