I knew about those restorations and the possibility of BD releases, great to see conformation of it! Thanks for the news. Both are good films, particularly WOMAN ON THE RUN, and both have only been available in crappy PD quality discs.

The Film Noir Foundation also played a part in restoring TRY AND GET ME. It has played some festivals and such but has yet to be confirmed for a disc release. I really hope it gets one, that's one I have never seen and it's very highly regarded.

            • That French DVD of Losey's M remake is almost certainly a bootleg. See this reproduced exchange at the CHFB that someone had with the person behind the release (post #25).

                      Twilight Time.
Pretty remarkable comparison there. I'm very pleased with the TT BD, very much enjoyed revisiting this for the first time in many years. Really dark film and very different from LAURA. The personal circumstances of both Tierney and Andrews at the time (in real life) very much seem to be a part of their performances. I also dug that the woman who wrote the essay included in the booklet went out of her way to really sing the praises of THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES - for such a great film it's way off a lot of peoples radar.

Bingo! Great, tough as nails noir from Phil (KANSAS CITY CONFIDENTIAL) Karlson. Evelyn Keyes is always great but the real heat in this one is Peggie Castle as Payne's money hungry, cheating wife. She smokes the screen in every one of her scenes. Great turn from Brad Dexter (MAGNIFICENT SEVEN) as the heavy too. The Muller commentary is some sweet icing, he's about the only one I will listen to these days.

Haven't seen this but much as I like de Toth and Payne, the noir references aren't very kind to this one. Copenhagen location photography is about the only positive they mention. Still would like to see it at some point though.
