"He (Scott) told the site that "I started my first meetings on the Blade Runner sequel last week. We have a very good take on it. And we'll definitely be featuring a female protagonist." That's all he's saying for the minute, though.

Still, there is more news out there. Deadline has revealed that Hampton Fancher is being asked to pen the script for the Blade Runner follow-up. Confirming that it's a sequel to the first film, and set "several years after the original", Deadline also suggests that this is indeed a project that Scott is looking to direct himself. After The Counselor, then?

Fancher was on scripting duties for the original film, too, although it sounds like Blade Runner 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) is some way off, if it's still in the early writing stages. More on it as we get it."

For titles, I don't think you can go too far wrong with BLADES RUNNERS: BLADE RUNNER II 3D.

Probably KILLER OF ELECTRIC SHEEP is unlikely.
