Good run, hard to believe he's been in so many great roles.

R.I.P. IAN HOLM. Without question, one of my favorite character actors. So versatile, so fine in just about every role he was cast in. The list of significant films he appeared in is staggering, but, he was worthy of getting all those chances. Never a true 'star' (save to those of us who appreciate the importance of supporting players), Holm always elevated the material.
Too many films to cite, but, I'll just mention a few starting with ALIEN and CHARIOTS OF FIRE when I first noticed him, to a string of admirable pictures like BRAZIL, DREAMCHILD, KAFKA, MADNESS OF KING GEORGE, THE AVIATOR, BIG NIGHT, TIME BANDITS and, of course, the Lord Of The Rings pictures.
      Truly an exceptional career.
