meh - I thought it was just okay! if it is your goal to create the darkest, most fucked up version of batman on the big screen, you definitely want to go for a R-rating. this felt more like way too much talking and being too afraid to show something more explicit. also I like how they promoted this with "batman is a brilliant detective" ... there was nothing brilliant about this tbh. I waited for my mind to be blown by the jaw-dropping twist of riddlers master plan, but nothing happened.

ps: I have to admit emo bruce wayne and the nirvana song made me giggle.

The opening subway sequence was amazing. That's all I can really recall, except for Paul Dano's overacting as The Riddler.

It is funny how all the live-action Riddlers play the part the same godawful way, when the character is the most cerebral and quiet of the comic villains. The approach in Batman: The Animated Series and in the Arkham video game trilogy was SO much better than any of the live-action versions, by far.

If he's going to do 200 takes on shots again then 2025 sounds a tad optimistic. Maybe if he gets behind schedule the suits will start ripping pages out of the script and we'll get a film that isn't nearly three looong hours.
