That's a big one. I wonder if this is the start of an Arrow/WB relationship or just a one off?

If that is true, it's my most anticipated release for next year (if it's for next year)!

Yeah, I love this film. The DVD was Friedkin'd to hell, so I'd love a good release.

I read that the sex club it was rumored to be filmed in, wasn't where it was shot. It was filmed in The Hellfire Club, not Mineshaft as MS did not allow photos or filming (or women or anyone not in leather, etc. Hell, they wouldn't allow anyone in wearing cologne!).

I just hope the colour is not like the DVD version or the first BD of French Connection.

I first read that first @ as analfrightest, which would suit Cruising quite well.

Academy Award-winner William Friedkin (The Exorcist, The French Connection) directs Al Pacino as an undercover cop pitched into New York's seedy underbelly in Cruising - available for the first time on Blu-ray in a brand new director-approved transfer.

New York is caught in the grip of a sadistic serial killer who is preying on the patrons of the city's underground bars. Captain Edelson (Paul Sorvino) tasks young rookie Steve Burns (Pacino) with infiltrating the S&M subculture to try and lure the killer out of the shadows - but as he immerses himself deeper and deeper into the underworld, Steve risks losing his own identity in the process.

Taking the premise and title from reporter Gerald Walker's novel, Cruising was the subject of great controversy at the time of its release and remains a challenging and remarkable movie to this day, with Pacino's haunted lead performance as its magnetic centrepiece.

Shit cover, recycled extras. I guess that new commentary never came off. Still, the film's the thing, and as long as Friedkin hasn't overly fucked with the look, I'll be happy.

They recorded it, but according to a poster over at the Blu-ray.com forums, Arrow said
With regards to Cruising, due to approvals we are unable to include the commentary. AV

I can guess who scuppered that one. Maybe they didn't polish his knob enough for his liking.
