But didn't Criterion's last streaming service (the name escapes me) also feature a lot of films they have rights to but haven't released on disc? Janus/Criterion hold lots of great film rights hostage with, as it appears, no intent to do anything with them. Nakagawa's best films come to mind. I guess with Stalker, the fact that Kino owned it for US distro earlier bodes well for a future disc release, as it's obviously a new aquisition for Criterion. Fingers crossed.

Hulu. And yes, it had a lot of titles that they haven't released on Blu-ray or DVD, but I can't see them keeping a Tarkovsky film as a streaming exclusive.

I think I'll settle for the Eureka DVD box of LW&C that I already own. Punch-Drunk Love is a great film, and I don't own it on DVD, so I'll buy that. I really like The Squid and the Whale too.

Yeah, it's one thing when it's just a few bucks, but $60? And they probably got hundreds of orders considering it's a Criterion release and everything. It adds up to BIG money for them. I'll be very surprised if they do honour this fuck up.
