According to Whit Stillman, Criterion is currently negotiating with Warner Brothers about releasing BARCELONA on Blu-ray.

I watched the BD of MINSTRY OF FEAR last night. After seeing it quite a few times, this one surprisingly continues to grow on me and it's become one of my favorite Lang films. Marjorie Reynolds never became a star but I love her in this, she's very natural and gives a quiet, luminous performance. Ray Milland is very good too, and Dan Duryea starts his Lang run here, playing a suave and menacing tailor - there's a great scene where he's making a phone call with a huge pair of scissors in his hand, standing near Milland, and you really wonder if he's gonna stab him. The cinematography is top notch, very shadowy and nightmarish. The disc is a little light on supplements, there is an interview with a Lang scholar on the film and a perceptive essay that makes a fine case for the film. The film looks very nice too. One of my favorite discs of the year so far.

I watched the Lang scholar interview this morning, Paul. It's a fascinating and pretty thorough discussion of the film, I wish it had been a little longer though. I think you'll be happy with the disc.

Looks like THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE Blu-ray will be announced on Monday. Criterion was asked the following question on their facebook page

I guess I was wrong, according to this post at the CHFB, Mignola didn't draw THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE cover.

Guy Davis confirmed on twitter that he did THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE cover (and booklet cover) art.

So, Criterion is clearly fucking with us because they've added empty person pages for Sergio Leone and a number of the cast of THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY. This needs a new release, but there is no way in hell that MGM would license it out.

They also have added empty person pages for Shintarí´ Katsu and some of the other actors from THE MAN WITHOUT A MAP. A much more likely release.

There is an easter egg on the REPO MAN Blu-ray. To access it, select the Supplements menu and then press the blue button on your remote. It is an 11 minute featurette called The Secret Truths of Repo Man.

Someone at the Criterion forum found this Wall Street Journal clip about films that got booed at Cannes on Hulu and at the 2:40 mark they show CRASH and credit it to Criterion. It is entirely possible that they've mistakenly credited Criterion with it, but who knows, maybe New Line's rights have expired or Warner licensed the film to Criterion.
