    Theatrical and directors cuts.

    Mondo review.
LA PASIÓN ESPAÑOL: THE EROTIC MELODRAMAS OF VICENTE ARANDA (1991-1999)

I remember this being quite boring. Can they correct that with a directors cut? If so, I might bite.

Interesting story, apparently, the Director's cut is what was available on home video since the bombed theatrical cut. I will say this; the Kino disc does not look good. It utilizes what looks to be an old transfer; not unwatchable, but very murky and unimpressive.

Watching both cuts back-to-back is a fascinating viewing experience. I'd recommend the director's cut first, followed by the theatrical. It's incredible to see how drastically a film can be altered in the editing room. Both cuts are deeply flawed, but the theatrical is a great example of how much a film can be ruined by poor decisions. This is a great release, and Richard Rush explains exactly what happened in the first half-hour of the commentary.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

The commentary with Rush is good (As opposed to the theatrical commentary), but damn that's an ugly-ass transfer.

Yeah, the moderator on the theatrical commentary talks way too much.

Calling her a filmmaker is a bit of a stretch, as well. And it seems like neither of them wanted to talk about the film.
