Saw this recently when it popped up on streaming here. Tom Hardy was fine and the CGI was pretty decent, but this film never felt particularly exciting or thrilling or even interesting for that matter, so I gave up after about two thirds of it.

Well, when you make a movie based on a villain whose origins are tied into a character that isn't even mentioned in the movie, it kinda ties your hands as far as anything making much sense.

This was on my to-see list, and I was thinking I should watch it; then I was reminded that I've already seen it. Amazing that I have no recollection of it at all, and it would have been recently that I saw it. Can't have left much of an impression.

Pretty underwhelming but I appreciate they did try yo do something different with the long character-based section at the beginning and lomg deoay before Venom shows up. Weak-ass villain though.

Mark Mothersbaugh did the music for that one, which he sheepishly called "The best of the three" while shooting his Amoeba Records WHAT'S IN MY BAG segment. A ringing endorsement.

I assume that Sony keep these cheap enough that the biggest cost is hiring Hardy which is probably why these turn a profit. That and not reshooting three times because they didn't have a script ready. Disney could learn something from Sony.
