  • R.I.P. Robert Vaughn

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. has left the building.

When I was a kid I thought he was the coolest! I'd watch U.N.C.L.E. re-runs with my dad and he was a big fan too.

Leaves a pretty legacy. He was, if I am correct, the last of the Magnificent Seven to go.

It's funny but I actually know him best from BASEketball:

He had really good comic timing.

Have somebody prepare a meal, then bury it with him.

            RIP.

Man from U.N.C.L.E. was before my time, and I didn't see The Magnificent Seven until I was a little older.

My childhood memories of Vaughn are Superman III, C.H.U.D. II, and that episode of HBO's The Hitchhiker. I always liked his voice / delivery.

I used to watch A-Team and can't believe I'm drawing a blank about him being in it. Going to have to visit YouTube to bring back memories.

I used to love THE MAN FROM UNCLE - which I saw via repeats in the early/mid 1980s. I think Vaughn was great in BULLITT, and I remember the shock when I saw him in Lattanzi/D'Amato's KILLING BIRDS.

He was still working until recently, I believe, often on television. I saw him interviewed not long ago and was pleased to see that he still seemed in good health.

              Sad news :(

There's also BATLE BEYOND THE STARS and that Canadian UFO invasion movie he did with Christopher Lee.

For a truly weird one, check out Vaughn's utterly bizarre turn as a sleazy villain in the "hippie" crime thriller CLAY PIGEON (in which he shouts most of his lines and wears a succession of increasingly silly hats in every scene).
