One my absolute favourites is The Executioner 2: Karate Inferno, unfortunately no clip on Youtube.

I quite like this one too: The Man From Hong Kong:

Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

I love the opening credits sequence for the great Carlos Enrique Taboada's POISON FOR THE FAIRIES. You know you're in for something special watching that.

For "classic" horror, I've always been creeped out by the opening music and illustrations for HORROR HOTEL (1960).

And I'm sure everyone remembers the whole "preparation of the glove" bit at the start of the original NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.
        VHS will never die!

          Yes! That's an amazing opening.

I can list any number of John Carpenter movies but I've always enjoyed ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK because everything is explained in the first few minutes of the opening title sequence. His trademark synth score with the circa 1981 computer graphics and the Kathleen Blanchard narration just work so well.

I think Morricone's score for this film is one of his least effective, but this theme song kicks ass:

Keep the volume low when you start the video!

Always liked this one. Haunting combination of image and sound: those chiaroscuro profile portraits overlaid with the image of a tree-lined avenue rushing by.

I'm surprised De Palma's SCARFACE hasn't been mentioned yet: the Moroder score with the stock footage intercut with red on black titles. Like the start of some weird disco-era mondo picture.

KING OF NEW YORK. The freshly-released Frank White staring blankly out of the car in which he's traveling at what's become of 'his' city.

GHOST DOG: WAY OF THE SAMURAI. A pigeon's eye view of the city, with RZA's score underneath it.

And another Jarmusch: DEAD MAN. Crispin Glover's bizarre monologue as the train's fireman ('Isn't this like when you were on the boat?'); the stark monochrome photography; Neil Young's music.

'You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. Still the same. Pissholes in the snow'

Obviously it can't be posted to YouTube but the opening to Devil in Miss Jones 3: A New Beginning is surely one of the greatest. Lois Ayres showing while this catchy ditty plays is basically perfection.

Ichi the Killer - more films should have the title written in spunk.

Love the titles on mid-period Cronenberg films: Dead Ringers, Crash, Existenz, Naked Lunch. All are amazing and do a nice job of easing you into his strange little worlds.
