    • "The Pyx" arrived in the mail yesterday (actually the day before, but I didn't realize the box was sitting on the front porch until last night when I pulled up the amazon order tracking information and saw that it was delivered on 2/21). My wife needed something to throw her order over the $25 free shipping threshold, so I told her to get this. Early 70s, prostitutes, Karen Black, satan...looks good to me.

I shall let you know once I have seen it this weekend. But I hope for maximum big budget cheesyness.

          • The Three musketeers was strange. Craptacular indeed and just.... strange. I mean, why do a version of the most classic adventure imaginable but change the plot completely and add blimp-ships with cannons? Why did one of the musketeets have a scottish accent? Why did Richlieu have a german one? Wtf kind of accent did Milady De Winter have at all, and why did it change back and forth? Also, for a fencing era piece this film was kind of short on fencing scenes. All in all I kind of liked it. It was so tacky and stupid and over the top that it somehow made for an entertaining craptacular time.

Now, I only wish for a proper filmatisation of The Three Musketeers in a few years time with proper actors and plot. But until then, I will have this zoned out LSD version to watch. I guess that aint half bad. It was better then the disney abomination with Charlie Sheen from the 90s at least.

All in all I feel this was a failed attempt at making a Flash Gordon style epic WTF-movie of the 21st century.
