It is brutal, yes, but if you truly hated the film before, it's not going to change your mind. Also, haven't seen it quite a while, but wasn't the rape rather tough even in the R rated version?

Is that the only difference or are there other cuts? (Trying to avoid spoilers for others; I've seen the film.)
Edit: Eh, never mind. IMDb to the rescue. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082250/alternateversionsLast edited by Marshall Crist; 06-26-2016, 11:11 PM.

II is the only Death Wish sequel I genuinely like. The next three are just guilty pleasures for me. It isn't in the same league of filmmaking as the original but it's top draw exploitation at its sleaziest.In-depth analysis on horror, exploitation and other shocking cinema @ Cinematic Shocks

I've got good news regrading the transfer on this disc: the unrated cut looks much better than the theatrical. Shout has obviously done a new scan and there's no insert footage (as I had feared). The theatrical cut is way too bright and actually looks pretty terrible (perhaps it was taken directly from the previous MGM blu?).Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome?
