Little bump here. Has ANYONE found any examples of Nudity in a PG or PG-13 flick in the last four years!!??? Or, an older example going back to after 1997 for that matter?

PG-13 Movies with Nudity....since TITANIC

I know I have seen some breasteses or ass in a few PG-13 or less US movies since Titanic.
Still, I had to dig through my memory a bit.
Great Expectations from 1998. There is some ass and a bit of boob from Gwyneth Paltrow, though it's not, "In your face", still, it is there.
A decent movie, still hasn't had a proper release in the US. All DVD version are non-anamorphic. I saw some DVDs with new DVD art for this title appear recently in the US Big Lots stores. I though maybe it was finally released anamorphic. Then, I search online, and read that it's the same as the old DVD release, just with fresh DVD case art.

The MPAA have always had this dumb taboo with sex and nudity in films but show more violence
Another example - but not nudity was in Bond film DIE ANOTHER DAY - in the US cinema version it was cut
Halle Berry and Pierce Brosnan are making out in a family film way but it didn't show the final thrust and I think sounds of Halle Berry enjoying herself were also cut by the MPAA - crazy

Got the 12 certificate uncut dvd but in the US to get a PG the scenes showing her nipples in the bath and when she gets out of it were cut

On DVD, yes. But, not in the USA theatrical.
W.S. is from 1985. Pre the 1997 TITANIC scene I laid down as the marker.

From what I recall, in Great Expectations 1998, the side boob had a nipple shown. Also, there was some ass and rump (Rump is the side of the ass, Beavis taught me that).
So, not a full forward view of boobies, but, it's the most I can think of since 1997 that I have seen in a PG-13 movie.

As Fundi put it well:Originally posted by Fundi View PostAmerica loves violence, so Hollywood gives it to them. But that's not what makes our country violent, I'm not one of those people that thinks movies or media makes people act the way they do, it's idiot parents who don't raise their kids right. Parents who let their kids run rampant and don't teach them it's not okay to go out and steal peoples cars and steal someones money just because you want it. But as for nudity in films, yeah what the hell happened to that, you can't even show much nudity in an R rated film anymore or you get slapped with an NC-17 rating it seems. I have been watching so many Euro films that I don't even notice nudity anymore, and I don't even realize the films are probably rated NC-17 if they were rated in America, but on blu ray they are given an unrated rating. They aren't porn films or anything, just films that show nudity much more normally than American films. American films still have to strategically place nudity or people get all bent out of shape over it.Last edited by JoeS; 08-14-2019, 09:25 PM.

Originally posted by JoeS View PostNope. I have been long been interested in censorship in the cinema. It's interesting that Post-TITANIC, violence has amped up considerably in PG-13 cinema, while Nudity, which used to be fairly regular even in the old PG days, has dwindled to the point that we have to wrack our collective brains to find a handful of examples over the past TWENTY-TWO YEARS!
However, on the other hand I do feel that in American cinema, at least, there is a tendency amongst filmmakers to equate nudity with sex or displays of sexuality - which, in the eyes of the MPAA, would necessitate a classification above 'PG-13'. I would agree there is definitely a very puritanical attitude towards nudity within the MPAA, but the tendency among American fllmmakers particularly to equate nudity with sex is also possibly a reason why less films with nudity achieve lower classifications generally. In other words, if Hollywood was more inclined to include nudity in non-sexual contexts, the number of films with nudity and a lower classification might very well increase. (And, for that matter, I'd suggest there are less films at the 'R' classification with nudity - whether sexual or otherwise - when compared with the early 1990s, for example, and some of the neo-noir pictures of that era: eg, THE LAST SEDUCTION, BASIC INSTINCT.) Perhaps the salacious attitude towards nudity within Hollywood (ie, that nudity must always be presented within a sexual context) is as much of a 'problem' as the puritanical attitude of the MPAA. When you consider the darker side of Hollweird and the prurient attitudes of those in positions of authority within the system, from Kenneth Anger's HOLLYWOOD BABYLON to the #MeToo debacle, Hollywood cinema's association of nudity with sex seems part of a much deeper cultural trend that has perhaps become normalised within the kinds of people who make it to the upper echelons of the Hollywood system.
Then there are other factors: eg, the inequality that has for a long time existed in American films between female nudity and male nudity, which has faced a backlash and, seemingly in response, filmmakers have largely shied away from 'equal ops' nudity (ie, avoiding including more male nudity to redress the balance), choosing instead to avoid representing female nudity.
There are a lot of angles, but heck, if JoeS is indeed 'taking names' for a search on MrSkin, why the hell not? It's a free world... right? At least, for the time being.'You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. Still the same. Pissholes in the snow'
