  • The Rialto Report

Some of you might find this interesting. 'Benson Hurst' - the man behind the liner notes on the recent Distribpix releases and a pretty well regarded adult film historian, has started a podcast called The Rialto Report.

Some very cool information up there and more to come I'm sure. Figured I'd pass on the link...

An interview with George Payne?! Holy shit this looks awesome! Here's hoping Benson can convince a few more of the old legends to join in. I'd love to hear CJ Laing talk about her work.

I'd hope it's only a matter of time, I know he knows CJ personally and is quite friendly with her.

I just listened to the George Payne and Jennifer Welles interviews today at work. Wow. Fantastic stuff.

Payne was a really interesting interviewee. Sometimes a bit cagey with his responses, but he offered up plenty of great info overall. I'll have to go back and read the stuff I've read about him in the past and see how they match up with the picture he presented in the interview. Also wonderful to hear his memories of Phil Prince, so at odds with the picture of him one conjures up after watching his films and reading the all the bizarre stories about his history (which I believe mostly trace back to Sleazoid Express).

And Jennifer Welles. Such an engaging actress and presence. Wonderful to hear her discuss her upbringing and look back on her days on the industry with such affection. You always assume that most porn stars who simply disappear do so to escape the industry, usually due to bad experiences, so it was great to hear the story from a different angle.

With so many great performers leaving us (and many well before their time) it's really good to see people capturing their stories and memories while there's still time. Speaking of Phil Prince, I'd love to hear Sharon Mitchell's memories of making 'Taming of Rebecca'. She's certainly done plenty of interviews since she ceased performing, anyone know of an interview where she discusses it?

Good to know. I believe the liner notes of Distribpix's Maraschino Cherry disc mention that she doesn't remember much about making it, but I'd love to hear whatever memories she does have.

The thing I liked the most about the Jennifer Welles interview was that she revealed why she disappeared seemingly overnight after INSIDE JENNIFER WELLES came out.
