The Devil Inside Her (1975, Zebedy Colt)

I recently saw this one for the first time and, wow...what a weird little smut flick.

I was prepared for some weirdness having seen Colt's super sleazy flick Sex Wish, and Devil Inside Her definitely doesn't hold back the sleaze, either. Some of the sex scenes are rather routine stuff, and some get downright bizarre and twisted, and even though smut is it's purpose it does manage to create a weird, surreal horror atmosphere for itself. Jody Maxwell does an awesome job as the blasphemous daughter Hope, and Colt shows up in this one playing her dad. I'm sorry, but we never need to see Zebedy Colt in his movies. I think that dude being there is more disturbing than anything the movie has going plot wise. Annie Sprinkle shows up doing her specialty, and while she's in a great, bizarre cult orgy, I wish we would have had more of her in this flick.


Anyone else seen this one? What did they think? I'm just now realizing how many occult-themed adult films there were back in the day, and so far all the ones I've seen have been pretty damn interesting.

You dug into that SWV batch pretty quickly, huh? ;)

I like this movie. It flips flops between atmospheric and effective and flat out silly but all in all I think that more often than not it works pretty well. I like Jody Maxwell in it and yeah, Annie is underused but a welcome addition to the cast. Cool use of sound in this one too.

I had to see this one, I had been curious for a long time. Plus, I found out Jody Maxwell is from my hometown, and I hadn't seen any of her films, so I had to check it out ASAP.

It does get rather silly. The eye makeup they put on everyone is ridiculously hilarious, and I spent a lot of time laughing at the devil character who spent most of his screen time yanking his balls in extremely painful looking ways. It's simultaneously bizarre, hilarious, demented, disturbing, and sexy. Basically, all the reasons I find old school smut so fascinating haha

The second feature on that disc is worth checking out too, though my memory as to why is fuzzy.

I watch a lot of this stuff drunk by myself at odd hours of the night.

This is the best of the Satanic xxx films I think, it's very psychedelic and bizarre but also a lot of fun despite the strong sleaze quotient.
