  • Yup, their shipping times are incredible. The Canadian warehouse is just about as fast as Amazon Prime, no joke.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

    • I saw New York Ninja on TCM Underground and it felt like a real film from the era, will have to pick it up sometime.

In the meantime I gave in and ordered Shriek of the Mutilated, Satan's Children, Righting Wrongs and Rollerbabies.

The new Canadian International Pictures feature looks good and I'll need to get the Franco double feature but that will be for another day.

      • There's speculation that a second Rene Cardona set is coming soon and that Guns And Guts will be included in it, based on the header image below. (from Dawn Of The Discs).

            • From the newsletter that came out yesterday afternoon.

"Looking further ahead, October and November are shaping up to be our best yet! In addition to the world UHD debut of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART II, this October will include the first ever Paul Naschy starring UHD, and Blu-rays of a truly demented international slasher, along with one more never-on-blu 80s gorefest, and that doesn't even include the horror themed Peekarama double feature or the two horror VSAs! November is also taking things to a new level, including our second Home Grown Horrors set along with the biggest pair of surprise titles we've had so far! Much more info to come in the next couple months."

              • I wonder what horror themed films they've got for Peekarama?

                Comment

                • Best guess is a double feature of Doris Wishman's two horror-themed porn films. We know they're getting a Peekarama release at some point and October likely coincides with the final AGFA set.

                  • Ah yeah that makes good sense, Doris' xxx films are so weird I didn't think of them as horror porn lol.

                    • From yesterday's newsletter:

"Our first annual VS SummerFest Sale is only a few days away, starting this Friday (the 19th) at 12:01 AM EST and running through 11:59 PM EST on Sunday (the 21st)!

Throughout the sale, nearly 200 VS and Peekarama releases will be marked down to 50% off SRP! The films selected represent a sampling of titles for which the film elements (ranging from camera negatives to only known prints) are vaulted in our archives. As many of you know, VS was founded not just to release genre films, but to find and preserve their original film materials, with an emphasis on saving the types of works most often endangered. This mission is still the driving force behind VS, and our efforts to protect cinema history is stronger than ever, with newly recovered materials arriving at our archives each month to be preserved.

In addition, at the opening of the sale, we’ll be unveiling our next duo of Peekarama releases, one a UHD upgrading of a classic double feature from one of the genre’s most celebrated directors and starring one of his favorite leading ladies, and *the other the world Blu-ray debut of a star-studded classic from an equal parts legendary and notorious hardcore auteur.

Plus, two of our favorite Peekarama releases will be receiving newly designed Catalog Slipcovers!

We’ve also prepared one of our best and most entertaining VSA's to date; a southern-shot 80s actioner that’s non-stop fun from start to end and is making its world Blu-ray debut!

Also, several of the incredible artists with whom we work with have created new posters, shirt designs, and more, including an original take on the artwork for a VS classic dating back to our earliest days of DVD."

                            • I recorded it off MGMHD years ago and remember enjoying it. But lord knows my tastes are suspect. I'll try to give it a re-watch this weekend and see what I think now.

                              • Unmasking the Idol looks fun but will have to wait as I'm stoked to get Pandora's Mirror. After adding After Blue, Natural Enemies and the Wishman set I'm done for this sale. Think I've got all the xxx films from their catalogue that I want.

A Jungle Blue blu with slipcover may have tempted me as it is fun garbage but it is just a VHS release, a format pseudo-nostalgia I will never understand.
