FOMO or not, the type of people that like these types of films enough to notice there is a special sale at an obscure online retailer would do well to pick these titles up before they are difficult to obtain as they are in their wheelhouse. No doubt some of these people not giving into the FOMO will be complaining that they missed out sometime later.

Hoping I don't regret passing on MARY MARY.

It is going to be real tempting to sell my copy of DISCONNECTED here in a few weeks/months when the panic sets in.

    • I just meant I used to feel like I was missing out if I didn't take advantage of these sales, now I realize life goes on even if I don't own every dvd or blu ray on earth because it's "limited edition" or whatever,. And I see people who think they are creating a library for future generations, which is totally ridiculous. It's not like this stuff is equal to the Declaration of Independence or something lol, I mean yeah if you find an original copy of the secret battle plans of George Washington I'd say hang on to that, but and I don't mean this just from Vinegar Syndrome, but all DVD companies, record companies, etc. for example, I can't tell a damn bit of difference between the Beatles CD's issued in 1987 and the ones "remastered" "restored" or whatever from 2009 they sound exactly the same to me. Usually the only times a remaster sounds different is when they fuck with the music and change it, in which case I don't really like that usually, because they are changing the music from it's original.

      • I understand what you're saying. Didn't you lose your collection in a flood? I'm certain that if something like that happened to me, I'd feel the same way about collecting.

I also sometimes think that it would be incredibly liberating to just have a small collection (maybe 250 - 300 titles) of my very favourite films. As it stands, I have close to 1500 titles across three formats and I simply couldn't bear to part with them, unless it was forced upon me. It's too late to turn back now!
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

        • yeah I lost everything I had in a flood including my home. I lost around 500 record albums, I never counted them, but just a guess, they took up a huge amount of space. The biggest loss on that was my Beatles Stereo boxset of vinyl albums, I paid a lot for that one, around $350 I think. I actually think that its better to just get films I really love, that are in good editions. I rebought some of my favorites like The Pretty Peaches trilogy on blu ray. I haven't got to replace like my Friday the 13th boxset, or some stuff like that, but I hope I can in the future. I'm trying to get new stuff too, that I never had, but I try to keep from just buying and buying and buying more stuff all the time. Vinegar Syndrome is one of my top 3 companies for movies on dvd and blu ray, but I'm kind of phasing out on porn lol, I don't think there are any porn films left that I want to see that I haven't already seen. I mean and honestly if I were going to recommend someone some classic porn it'd be the Radley Metzger films, and Devil in Miss Jones and Behind the Green Door. That's probably all the porn anyone really needs to see lol. I I'm still hoping someday we get a 4K version of Devil in Miss Jones and Behind the Green Door, but I doubt that'll ever happen. But there is always hope I guess.

              • Anyone seen HELLMASTER? The reviews on imdb suggest that it's a piece of crap.

                • I've seen HELLMASTER twice. When it first came out and later when the earlier dvd was released. I wouldn't say it's crap, just not very good. Also seen MASCARA, it's good. I've never been a big fan of his films, they tend to be good but with a few exceptions, never really good (still better then most of the stuff he did after 1986).

                    • is it possible that even if you have the 35mm original negative of a movie, that it will not look any better on 4k or blu ray, than it does on DVD? I ask this because I had asked a company about releasing one of their movies on blu ray or 4k, and they said it would not look any better on 4k or blu ray than it looks on DVD, which sounds like total bullshit to me, but I just thought I'd ask if this is true, and they meant this about their entire catalog of 70's and 80's porn movies, but when I ask porn companies questions I usually get retarded answers so this is kind of a typical answer actually.

That is, utterly and truly, bollocks.

haha you got it! I just really wish Debbie Does Dallas would at least get a blu ray release, and considering Debbie Does Dallas is probably the most well known porn film ever, I mean if you like ask someone to name a porn film, they will probably say Debbie Does Dallas, I don't mean it's the best porn film ever, although I really put it high on my list of favorites, but I mean come on it needs to be on blu ray at least.

"Deep Throat" is more well known than "Debbie Does Dallas". Watergate wzas even named after it.
