Looks to me they're just cardboard slipcases but the cases pop out the bottom rather than the side

That's exactly what they are. It's kinda neat, something different. I will post pictures after work if I remember.

Does anyone know if the standard edition release of Liquid Sky comes with the booklet? The VS listing says "This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray/DVD combo. The limited edition dayglo slipcover was limited to 3,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover", but does also refer to the insert as well? If anyone can help me out before the sale ends, I'd appreciate it.

There is an element of that. I am beyond these manipulations at my age, I only buy what I want not bc of nice slipcovers etc.. I have become a good experienced turd-spotter too. I got 9 titles in the 'sale' ifyoucan call it that since the prices were still pretty high, cost me like £18 a release shipped to UK.

Yeah, my problem with slipcovers (which I really don't care about at all) is that they make the releases more expensive.

The people over at Bluray.com seem to be obsessed with slipcovers.
