I think the lead character in "Homer, The Late Comer" is played by James E. Myers (a.k.a Jimmy DeKnight), the man who co-wrote the famous rock and roll classic "(We're Gonna) Rock Around The Clock". If you look at the pictures of Mr. Myers, he has those same "bumps" above (and one below) his right eye, the same as the guy in "Homer".
Another connection is that the first woman Homer has sex with is played by the same girl who appears in "The Swinging Playboy" (aka "The Playboys"), which has an on-screen directorial credit for Jimmy DeKnight. John Holmes' character, the one who gets all the ladies, is named Jimmy, btw.
I'd love to read more about James E. Myers film career, especially late 1960s and early 1970s. Most articles about him naturally concentrate on "Rock Around The Clock" and Bill Haley. In an article/interview with Myers in a British music 'zine "Not Fade Away" issue 16 from 1980, he mentions 350-odd film appearances, a couple of mentioned are "The China Syndrome" and the then new "King Kong" plus TV series "The Bionic Woman" and "The Rockford Files".
He has some interesting credits on imdb, too.
