Also of note on the first disc is a 'music subtitle' track which, when enabled, provides a text commentary that details the use of the music in the film in easy to read yellow text on the bottom of the screen. Not only does this point out what library tracks are being used here and where they came from, but it also provides biographical information for the people who wrote the tracks. It's a very thorough study of the music in the film, something that would have been very easy to overlook but which is actually quite interesting once you sit down and start getting into it. This isn't just a rundown of what's used here but an insightful mini-history of the use of library music, where it came from, why it was used, how it was used and the historical significance of certain portions of the score - if you ever wondered what The Private Afternoons Of Pamela Mann had in common with Swan Lake and Spongebob Squarepants, this will answer that question for you.
Does the BARBARA BROADCAST dvd also have a 'music subtitle' track?
Reason I'm asking is, for over 30 years I've wondered about the musical score during the bondage scene between Constance Money and Jamie Gillis. There are three pieces sequenced together to score that scene:
"Dosier" by Brian Bennett and Alan Hawkshaw, for about the first 30-35 seconds
another piece, dark and rhythmic, mostly drum & bass with the rest of the band joining for dramatic fanfares
is Blonde On A Bum Trip a hardcore film? I've never heard of that movie. I wonder who the commentary is with? I'm anxious for Distribpix to get some new releases out. With Vinegar Syndrome and Distribpix cranking stuff out stuff, I'd be one happy porn hound.
It's softcore, Distribpix released a number of softcore films since they've been around since the early 60's. I'm guessing the commentary is by either Jack Bravman, Ed Adlum or Raf Mauro (probably the latter since neither Bravman or Adlum really talk about their films).

Just noticed a passing comment that Steven made on his facebook page when pushed about the whereabouts of the restored Through the looking glass release. There seems to be some issues as to why it hasn't yet been produced, and a mention that the 2k scan was lost!!! I'm not sure if this is now not going to happen at all, or just sometime in the future but I'm contemplating now picking up the existing Video-x-pix release.
Wow, that's really sad to read that. It's such a great movie too. On a brighter note, I do hope that "Maraschino Cherry" gets a blu ray release. The new 2k dvd looks really nice, but a full 1080p HD upgrade would be most welcome.

I am fine with whatever Steven has to do to keep the releases coming and keep his company afloat. Of course I would prefer it if every future release could get the deluxe Blu-ray treatment we saw Misty and Barbara get but if the money isn't there, I would buy bare bones discs no questions asked!
Interesting to read what Steven's intentions might be and whether to bring the 3 remaining Paris films to blu. I personally hope he decides to do it, but I understand much better now the challenges he has faced. I personally would be happy with a 3 disc blu-ray collection with no extras if that is the more cost effective way of doing it.
I honestly don't mind if there no extras if he decides to release the rest of the Paris films on blu ray.
