Very cool! Vera was at the event I went to as well, Veronica Hart too, but I didn't get to meet them. Got some pictures though.

    Yessir!
Veronica was a last-minute addition; we were doing a walkthrough of the exhibit I was there to document when Annie called our tour guide (who was also the main curator of the exhibit) and asked if it was ok if Veronica came. He put her on speaker and asked her to repeat that- 99% of the folks at the walkthrough had no idea who Veronica was, but I might have audibly squealed.

I shot some shitty iphone video of them talking about our mutual friend (that we were there to honor) Fakir Musafar.

Last year I went to an annual conference for professional body piercers and, knowing that Annie Sprinkle would be attending/speaking, packed my copy of DEEP INSIDE ANNIE SPRINKLE for her to sign. She was an absolute delight, was tickled that I'd included an article about her in my latest zine, and then sent a wonderful followup email that made me fanboy so hard I practically levitated.

Not really an update per se, but amusing none the less.

I checked out the screencaps on adultdvdempire and for an older release don't look too bad. I'm tempted. But saying that I revisited VCX remastered release of Desiree Cousteau's Deep Rub last night and couldn't get passed the first 10 minutes due to it looking subpar.

I have a copy of Female Athletics somewhere. If I remember correctly, like most of the earlier Distribpix DVDs, it's taken from an analogue source and probably watermarked during the sex scenes - but watchable.

In the absence of any of these getting restorations, I'm thinking about picking up a couple of older video-x-pix titles, namely "Delicious" with Veronica Hart and "Female athletes" with Annette Haven. My question is are these at least good in their presentations. I've put off buying so many of the Distribpix catalogue namely due to the fact that so many of the Vs and new Distribpix restorations look so good, that anything else would put me off watching now.

Sorry, it's actually Porn Cultures, a podcast, that episode is available here but all the episodes are pretty good.

Do you have a link? Searching 'Porn Studies', I get an academic publication.

Here's an early interview I found:

I don't know, remember all the great boutique labels we use to have? All gone except for Severin. BU and MM are still around but comparatively quiet these days.

I believe VS uses the horror and exploitation titles to keep themselves afloat. I've seen some VS fans on FB assume that VS uses the adult titles to just make money but from his interview on Porn Cultures podcast it is clear Joe Rubin's heart is in the gutter with the rest of us.

Distribpix has a goldmine of films, I too wish they released more blu-rays. They have gone quiet though.

It seems to me that both titles would sell like hotcakes!
It seems really mysterious that between 2010 and 2018, we know that there have been various restorations on various projects at Distribpix. Some of them have been touted for either blu or dvd or both, and yet only 2 (if we don't count the Command cinema releases) blu-rays and a small handful of dvds have seen the light of day. We know that Through the looking glass went missing, or so was communicated some time ago, but what are the reasons behind the others? Steve seemed realty optimistic about these projects and publicly. I cant imagine it necessarily being the decline in physical media sales as VS are doing alright for themselves with their adult titles. I would love to know the reason.
