  • Whom should Severin "Box" next?

Really wanna hear your suggestions, but first, here's mine.

    BETHEL BUCKALEW

They've been trickling out the titles from the Novak estate, but this would kill about ten with one blow. Would love to dive into some Buckalew-related supplements.

Wouldn't turn up my nose at a William Rotsler set either.

      Fredric Hobbs.

A small box, admittedly, but more compressed craziness packed into it than many punters may care to deal with.

I'd like to see a Cinema of Transgression theme box set. It could include features and shorts from the likes of Nick Zedd, Richard Kern, Amos Poe, Beth B and Scott B, Charlie Ahearn etc. and they could include the great documentary BLANK CITY. That would be a lot of fun.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

In terms of vintage exploitation, the top choices for me would be Ed Wood or Russ Meyer. As we all know, the Meyer collection isn't going to happen, though, unless perhaps the people "running" his estate pass on and the control of the library falls to someone else.

I would definitely be down for a William Rotsler set.

I would buy the hell out of this, and cry tears of joy doing it.

I'm glad I'm not alone on that one.

I mean, if any of these eccentric/overlooked American directors really NEED that obligatory feature length documentary to unpack their shenanigans, Hobbs is surely the one.

YES! I was actually planning to pop into this thread today to shout out Polselli. A key euro-cult director whose work is in desperate need of some TLC before whatever elements are left disintegrate/disappear.

Evidently, Findlay bds are coming eventually from Distribpix or whichever company name they use for non-porn titles.

                        Interesting. Thanks, Ben.

This. I think Nabonga has the perfect title there for the boxset as well.

My first choice is Ray Dennis Steckler.

i would also like Joseph P. Mawra (the OLGA films and others)

Frost, Cresse, and Polselli would be good as well.

i also thought of Massimo Pupillo, but he probably doesn't have enough material for a box set.

I would prefer a Polselli box, but a Luigi Batzella (aka Paolo Solvay) one would also be a hoot.

What do you think of a Pupillo box with Bloody Pit of Horror, Terror-Creatures from the Grave, La vendetta di Lady Morgan, and Django Kills Softly? I haven't seen the last two, but Lady Morgan sounds great; and George Eastman is the star of Django.
