Really though, let's be honest; its Bill here, and his drama and tantrums do nothing but drive more sales, as no one knows what side of the bed he'll wake up on, what discs he'll pull and/or complain about from his store....just because of some imagined or (in rare cases) real slight. Best rule of thumb when dealing with Code Red: buy it as soon as it's released, or you may not get a chance to get whatever disc you want.

It's at once hilarious and frustrating, especially when you're trying to buy his product.

As of the last month or so, I've gotten more SWV discs than CR discs....just as I said I would. When the opportunity presents itself for the troublesome Canadian shipping to resume, I may order more from CR. Doesn't look like it'll be anytime soon, though, so my SWV collection continues to grow!

really hope he goes out of business soon - a drunken monkey on rabies is more trustworthy than him.

            • Bill is great. He puts out a solid product and the sideshow is a hoot. He evokes the nutjobs of yore who made much of the trash we love. Also, I find that the slightly extra effort it takes to get a Code Red disc makes me more likely to watch it. I have a huge pile of unwatched movies, but somehow I end up spinning my Code Reds within a short time after getting them.

Instant gratification makes you soft. Keep on keepin' on, Bill!

Looking at the long list of rare titles CR has brought fans over the last 5-6 years I pray your wish does not come true.
No other company would touch 90% of the titles he has released.

....then the discs will go for even MORE money on eBay!

I'm sure if Bill had his way, customers would have a Thunderdome-like showdown with each other in order to get product from him.

....'cause that's just the way Bill rolls.

                      • Ha. Dude is a nut. Reminds me of the soup nazi. Before the blu was released I emailed him to ask when his Nightmare in a Damaged Brain Blu was getting released and he shot back:

"NIGHTMARE is coming. not NIGHTMARE IN A DAMAGED BRAIN which is the UK title and that version is edited."

Then after he posted a picture of the check disc for the blu on his Facebook (which was labeled "Nightmares" in the picture he posted) I asked again when 'Nightmares' was coming out

"I am not releasing NIGHMARES?? that's a Universal pictures movie"

I had to be this clear and specific to finally get an answer:
I meant Nightmare ( your blu check disc had "Nightmares" on it, that is why I put that). The film that is also cut as "in a damaged brain", that you did the 30th anniversary dvd for, that you are now selling on your website.

I can only imagine what trying to haggle with Bill in person would be like. It's like you would literally have to convince him to take your money for his product. He runs away from sales, instead of running to them with arms open wide. It's by far the oddest thing I've ever seen in the genre dvd collecting world.

nah, cult labels come and go (noshame, casa negra, subversive cinema ...). If he doesn't release a certain title, maybe one day someone else surely will. there'll always be a way!

just look at "raw force" ...

when was it announced? one year .. two years ago?? all we got was bitching and whining and the usual "it won't sell" mantra. he even threatened to put it on a double or triple feature dvd. price? ... $24 maybe ... and would you be able to buy it before it's sold out and gone forever?? hard to tell. you managed to score a copy? fine. get ready for overcharged shipping! I think we're all fed up with this shit.

god bless vinegar syndrome! "raw force" on blu-ray, at a reasonable price, for everyone to buy!

                            • He made a big rumpus about that as well! He'd shape up if folk - as a unit - steadfastly refused to buy his product. But, there's a load of sycophants on the Code Red Facebook page who blithely agree with everything he says.

                              • Bill says that the four pre-order discs that were put up last month should start shipping next week as they're on a pallet on their way to him.
