You can almost set your watch by the "Don't go" responses. To be fair, it's not just that one person stirring the pot over there, it's a few. I stay out of the conversations over there, mainly because it's none of my business, and mainly because I don't care about the folks' over there's squabbles. Once again, I just want to buy DVDs!

Yeah, I don't get the venom, either. I don't know the VS guys, but wouldn't it make sense for these smaller labels to work together more? Just a wacky thought.

      • yeah the whole way he's going about his buisness these days is pretty piss poor. He open's the store but only to USA customers, with only a handfull of each title for sale, then sells newer copies of his films on ebay for 5-7 dollars more than the store. Someone complains about not getting a dvd he pretty much bans everyone from that continent from buying code red products. Dvd's don't sell, then complain on his facebook page that he does not sell dvd's. I think I will buy from diabolikdvd when they get his new releases from now on. If they won't stock them, then oh well, I can live without any of those films.

This is pretty much what I've wrote in the group last week. It isn't like I would die if I don't get a DVD and anyway he already loose my purchase this month since more important movies for me were just announced as coming next week for pre-order.

Edit: For next month also since I never buy anything in august...

Yep. Checked yesterday and wanted to order NEON MANIACS, but at checkout was told they're not shipping to Canada. I'll try again at the end of the month to order again, but I'm not going to sweat it if I can't.

Like you say, I can live without those films also. I'd like to keep up with their new releases, but I'm not going to lose sleep if I don't get them.

            • Yes, the Code Red store.

A few weeks ago, Bill was ranting about non-US customers complaining that they couldn't order his titles (he was away from Seattle at the time and only shipping within the US). I pointed out that nowhere in the store does it say that he's only shipping within the US, you only found out when you tried to checkout. Plus the message says something about "does not ship to Albania" (or where ever). He should say upfront that he's only shipping within the US at the time and non-US orders can be placed in a few weeks, otherwise it looks like he doesn't ship outside the US period. Of course my suggestion was meant with total silence and the group just continued going on how Bill should use the Amazon Marketplace for foreign orders (despite the fact that postage is terrible there and almost nobody would use it).

Even with the US, when he takes the store down, you get a message that the site is undergoing maintenance. That's okay for a day or two but when he keeps it up for a number of days or weeks, if I didn't know what was going on, I would think Code Red has folded and would never go back.

I understand Bill wanting to control everything by himself, but he really needs to look at it from the consumer's viewpoint, especially somebody who doesn't follow the various forums or from Facebook.

              • Hello, I'm new to this board, but many of you already know me from other forums. Bill is working on pre-production for several feature films. Everything is taking longer than expected, & Bill didn't anticipate on being gone this long. I'm sure that Bill would "love" to be back home, & making $$$ in sales. As soon as his business trip ends in LA, Bill will be back home, & the Bigcartel store will be up & running with all kinds of Code Red goodies! ( :

Thanks for letting me join Ian!

                  • Matthew David reports at DVD Maniacs that a check disc for MESSIAH OF EVIL is back from the plant. I'm guessing this film looks awesome in 1080p & looking forward to finding out.

                      • Swinging Barmaids and The Slayer are both being mentioned as possible 'coming soon' titles.

The Slayer would be fun, needs a good release. Never seen Barmaids.

                          • So, pardon my ignorance, but is Bill taking Canadian orders yet, or are we going through the same song and dance as before?

I have a feeling that I should just order from Diabolik and be done with it. My patience with CR's antics has reached its limit.
